Please help me out with an unusual name?

Unless your character herself is Japanese, living in Japan or her parents are traditionalists, don't. It's horribly cliche, and it makes people want to not read your story.

You know, just avoid Japanese all together. There are plenty of beautiful cultures in the world. Why don't you research them and make her a part of one of them?

There is nothing worse than a middle class white girl, living in the middle of America, with a name like Suki, when it's clear the only Japanese thing she's ever seen was half price sushi from a corporate American company.

i have some ideas, but could you give some more detail about the character? Girl or Boy?

currently, my choices are:

Ai (japanese word/ name meaning love)

Artemis (Greek means goddess of the hunt and the moon)

Solaris(latin meaning of the sun)

Gisli (scandinavian meaning ray of sunshine)

Chelan (native american word for deep water)

Delaney (english name meaning from the alder grove)

Note: all of these names are girl or boy names but i picked them with a girl in mind

(my fave is Chelan :D)
