Do you agree that social networking sites (myspace, facebook, etc) cause problems in relationships?

Just wanna know ur opinons? I believe they do...thats why my last relationship ended (bf was wayy too flirtatious and got many numbers..i trusted him but those sites are password-protected blah blah blah and i caught him several times on dates......with girls from online!!) and i just see that those stupid sites screw up many relationships...agree or no?

It wasn't the sites fault. I have many male friends on facebook. we share interests in game applications, even things about our lives, but I've never been tempted to cheat on my husband, go on dates etc. If your bf is cheating it's because he wants too not because he is on some social network. He would have found some other way to cheat. If you dig deep enough you will probably find that he has had many relationship that had nothing to do with a network. He had to go looking. So, as hard as it may be, you need to start looking at the real problem. Your bf. No one held a gun to his head and made him cheat. He did it all on his own. And believe me, if he's doing it now he's not going to change anytime soon. So now you have a choice, put up with his cheating or move on with your life by cutting the ties. So sorry I have to disagree with you, the networking site didn't cause the problem, that was already there, It was just used to feed the problem.

I disagree. Social Networking Sites could enable people who will cheat anyway, but an honest person wouldn't do that. The boy's desire to meet other people caused problems, not the networking site. I mean, there are also free dating sites like OkCupid.com that make it just as easy. Sorry to hear about what happened, but I'm also just getting out of a wonderful relationship and FB had nothing to do with it. I did however have a problem with an ex on MySpace, but that's because he wasn't committed and was doing things to be kinda flirty with other girls. If it's not on MS, it's on FB. If it's not on FB, it's at the mall, at parties, bars, clubs, you know what I'm saying? I suppose I would say social sites are just more convenient for habitual cheaters.

    I'd say no.

Sounds like the problem, as you stated in your question, was that your bf was too flirtatious, the sites are nothing to do with that, except as an outlet maybe for a problem you really would have wanted to know about anyway, in the long run.

Some people get way too into it but it usually doesn't effect anyone who rarely gets on. I'm going to have to say yes I agree because about 90% of people on those sites get obsessed with it (especially facebook because it becomes people's lifes).

Yes they do, although i think its because people get the wrong end of the stick and because your not physically next to the person you love you can't explain it. or in other cases like yours they can really be a problem but thats what happens and you move on.

I think they can, there are many different ways, they can be emotional cheating as well as hooking up and cheating, Male or Female they both can cross the line when it comes to being too friendly, When one crosses the line i think causes alot of problems,

Absolutely. Sooo much drama and putting things out there for everyone to see is an invitation for them to intrude.

It's only a problem if people make them a problem. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
