Why do people get killed in car wrecks? Why do people steal? Why do people lie? When Christ returns all things will be made perfect again.The people of Haiti won't suffer, go through destruction, or die any more.Things (including people) will return to life, and perfection.

He was there. If He prevented every single disaster than what would be the point for our mortal probation here on Earth? By your own logic, who is to say He didn't prevent the last 9,000 earthquakes that would have happened? We need to experience trials and opposition to experience spiritual, mental, emotional growth. We need to know sorrow and pain before we can know happiness and joy. He is helping the survivors and He is with those currently administering aid. He loves every one of His children.

not sure what you are getting at, but tragedy is a part of life. There are a number of thing we go through that are less than ideal, but you can always learn from them...service, bravery, etc

Its a natural occurrence that has been happening for thousands of years now. He can't just stop nature. Do we expect God to stop the snow so my friends don't die in snow related car accidents? Or stop the rain so I dont hydroplane and crash my first car I ever bought?
