To those who believe fully in "The Secret"/power of attraction: Can you help?

I won't even bother answering all of your questions individually. Because here's the reality about "The Secret":

Imagine that you want that high-paying job. You apply and send out positive thoughts into the universe that you want that job. You get that job. Do you assume that your thoughts landed you the job? What if you were just the most qualified?

But let's look at the big picture. Imagine that you and four or 4,999 other people applied for the job and you all sent out positive thoughts into the universe. It still boils down to only one of you will get the job. How do you and the other four or 4,999 people justify why they didn't get it?

What do you use your positive thoughts to accomplish? Greater peace in your relationships? More money? A guy that truly loves you? That your friend's medical test results will come back negative? Peace in the world? No more earthquakes?

What if I told you that all of our thoughts are prayers? If you have good thoughts and intentions in your heart, the ones that God is attracted to, they are prayers. They are expressed in our loving statements to others. God hears our statements and sees our hearts and can use our good thoughts and actions to effect good things.

Negative thoughts and intentions are unattractive to God. They come out of us through nasty attitudes, harsh and critical statements, hateful words said about, or to, someone else. Guess who hears and sees those and uses them for destruction...

The "Secret" is nothing more than a focus on good prayers. But even the "Secret" can lead people into superstitious thinking. You have to be very careful of cult-like organizations and philosophies that lead you to believe that you can have greater control and power over your destiny. People who feel ineffectual tend to gravitate toward beliefs and philosophies that promise them greater control over their environment.

We all have an equal opportunity in the spiritual realm to accomplish good for the betterment of our lives and society. The "Secret" formula is quite misleading because prayers, whether "sent out" via thoughts, intentions, words or actions may or may not be answered. If there is a God, and I believe there is, s/he isn't going to give you everything you want just because you think it's a good thing. You don't know everything there is to know in the universe. How do you know that what you seek is truly a good thing at that moment, in that context, and for those involved?

Prayer is good, positive thinking is really needed in this era. I imagine that with the state of the economy, more and more people are going to adopt the "Secret" in order to distance themselves from the fear of destitution. But don't be duped by one more false hope repackaged as a magic wand in your mind. You might as well send your money to the televangelists who promise to increase your money one hundred fold if you send it with "real" faith.

The problem with "The Secret" is that we are all in this reality together and for the person with down syndrome they or any of us for that matter, our belief in our different reality must counteract the disbelief of those around us. e.g. The parents, doctors extended family etc. of the person with down syndrome or the person who eats high fat diet believe the things we think we know about those circumstances. So if I teach my self to believe that I can put my hand through a concrete wall in a room by myself I must then show you and your disbelief will not let us go there. The law of attraction is a long term investment that works immediately if it can at the time but we are all in this together and though all the possible reality's are out there consciousness only resides in one of them. We are a group of beings that must move together like it or not.

Utter nonsense. As is the common claim, "anything is possible." Patently not true. Try walking to the Moon or standing on the surface of the Sun. Along equally foolish lines... "Well, quantum mechanics says anything is possible!" No, it doesn't. It just states at at the quantum level, at the level of subatomic particles, there is a level of indeterminacy. This does not apply at all once you rise above that level of scale. Then everything behaves pretty much as Newton observed.

I couldn't stop laughing while I watched "the secret" I think I should make a similar movie and call it "The bowel movement" which will teach people how to use the flow of energies around us to make people poop out of their mouths.

Many of individuals find that there are constantly barriers in their course and that luck does not favor them at vital moments.

I imagine slitting a chickens throat and drinking its blood would be more effective.
