Help on questions for Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe!?

1) In the last paragraph of the novel Things Fall Apart, the point of view shifts although the narrative is still third person. Whose point of view is shown in this paragraph, and what is the tone (attitude of the writer to his subject)? Why do you think Achebe makes this shift?

2) Name some other tragic heroes-- those that allow the audience to think of wider issues such as justice, social norms, conscience, and cross-cultural misunderstandings-- that you have encountered in literature, drama, or film. What characteristics do they share with Okonkwo?

1.) The Commissioner narrates the last paragraph. He seems indifferent to the people and sees them as unimportant but interesting to study. Achebe either did it because he wanted a different point of view on the story or because Okonkwo was dead.

Source(s): hope this helps =) sorry I couldn't answer number 2 though. You should Google tragic heroes.
