hunting boots ? choice?

I was just curious whitch brand of boots everyone thinks is the best. I have had cabela's boots for quite a while and been pretty impressed. Recently I bought a pair of danner boots and they are like tennis shoes compared to my other boots. They seem to hold up great and are really comfortable. Thanks for your input.

well im not impressed at all with my cabelas boots. I cant remember what name they are but are 1000 gram thinsulate. They are not very comfy or user friendly( they just got weird shape and bunch up in the tongue area. Thats how it is when you cant try them on before you order them though. I had a pair of Rocky Brutes before that that fell apart but did have about 8+ years of use. They were 1000 grain too. I liked them better than the cabelas. Next i might try cabelas infernos, Danners or irish setters in 1000+ grams thinsulate. My feet get real cold so i wont go less that 1000grams.

I did like my old rockys though.

That's a tough one. I used to use Herman Survivors exclusively for many years..but that was back in the 1970s when they had a good name for themselves. The quality went downhill and eventually the company was purchased (I think in bankruptcy court) by another company. Now they are mostly sold in places like Walmart.

I've actually had some good luck with the cheaper boots. I used to buy Redwing workboots every year...because they only lasted one season. Then I bought some el cheapo Kmart boots and they lasted me 4 years. So go figure!

The best boots I ever bought for fall hunting season were actually these really gay looking Nike hightops. They were in the clearance bin at a discount retailer (Ross) and were pink and blue colored. They fit me so I took a chance on them for 10 dollars. They were great! Aside from the pink and blue colors, they were the most comfortable psedu-boot I ever wore. The other thing is...Nike actually made some specialty boots for police tactical teams that the SWAT guys swear by.

I had a pair of Hodgeman boots that I completely loved then out grew them and then got a pair of Muk Boots Woody Elite and they are the best boots I have ever worn in my life. I would recomemnd these to anyone. One day I went out in 20° F weather with regular socks on and my feet were perfectly find they breathe well and are light

I have a couple Lake of the Woods that have served me well. My straight up leathers are Red Wings which I would trade for no other and I have worn a lot of boots in my life. Saying that.. Most of the guys I hunt with swear by Rockies.

i've got had fantastic success with Cabela's 6-factor boots. i'm on my 2d pair. the 1st pair lasted approximately 10 years previously I walked the soles off of them. i've got had the recent pair for a pair of 365 days and the only is plenty extra effective than the final pair, so i could think of that i will have this pair of trainers a whilst too.
