There are some people, especially on YA, that are insulting regarding the LDS church. They don't know what they are talking about.

We are a Christian religion - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - we are not a cult. Joseph Smith wasn't a pervert or a con-man or a treasure hunter.

I really don't care what people think. If someone blasts something they don't understand and don't have all the information, that just shows they are ignorant. It doesn't prove or dis-prove anything about us.

I've been raised as a Pentecostal Christian, and have been studying Mormonism for a while now. One of my role models is Mormon, and he always had this happiness about him. Same with my crush, who is also Mormon. I thought it was just him, but then someone said that all Mormons were like that. I wanted to learn about it. So I've been studying it for a few months, and have spoken to missionaries and whatnot. I'm fascinated by it. I don't know the true reason behind it, I don't know if I'm doing it because of my role model or crush or what have you, but I continue to search to see what people talk about when they say they know it's the truth and the feeling they get when they read the Book of Mormon. I haven't yet read the Book of Mormon, I've mostly been learning about what they believe and what not and have been watching BYU television which has a lot of sermons broadcasted. I'm hoping to be able to attend a church service soon. But I respect every one of them, and hope I find what I'm searching for.

Last Thursday I went to the funeral of a Mormon friend and found the funeral proceedings to be comforting and uplifting. Today I went to the Sunday services of the church and, once again, found that same wonderful spirit of peace and comfort.

Sure, the fact that I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) has some bearing upon my thinking, but it's more than that. The Church teaches the truth about Jesus Christ being the Son of God and about how we can return to live with Him. I love it.

The Mormon faith is exactly what you called it. Faith.. Nothing more. It's 100% faith. with absolutely no facts. So faith be it.

Members love it, most people who aren't members recognize that the LDS Church helps build good character and really good people even if they don't agree 100% with the things taught.

There is a Biblical verse that describes what mormonism is..

    Romans 1:23

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man...

Why would I say this about the church?

God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Vol. 6, Ch. 14, p. 305)

This would tend to support the idea that mormonism is one group that Romans 1:23 was written to warn the Church about.. We must see organizations like the mormon church and discard it as false.. IHS jim

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so i think that it is great. I know that it is true and i love being a member of the church.

  • No particular problem with it as long as they keep their dogma out of politics. Hell, I wouldn't want Pagan endorsed legislation either, and I am a Pagan. I might think that Mormonism is farfetched and silly too, but again, I worship ancient gods and practice Magic, so how does that make me any less kooky?

"If a faith will not bear to be investigated; if its preachers and professors are afraid to have it examined, their foundation must be very weak." Journal of Discourses, Volume 14, Page 216

I love mormons, but the book of mormon denies proven scientific fact, archaeology, genetics, history, and im sorry to say this, logic.
