Do you read a lot more when you are brutally deprived of an internet connection?
Boy, I do!
I should probably never have come back but man, did I miss it and all of you!
Thank you, mannon! I see from looking at the Q that I wasn't high on anyone elses missing person list! :)
Ah, Goldfish! Good to see you too!
Thanks, Loki! You always cheer me up!
Lyra!!! Poverty stricken in the Wisconsin winter... Kinda miss AZ but not as much as I miss you guys!
Oh, yeah, I'm pathetic. I dreamed about this silly site!
Nice to see you too, Apple Frost, thanks! But I seriously mean NO internet at ALL! Even the library in this town is only open about 12 (inconvenient) hours a week, for real!
Billet! I saw someone riding an emu in New Mexico and thought of you on your way to school on your kangaroo. It made me all weepy . . . :)
Thanks Felix Felicis! I'm kind of bumming because I'm only finding boring questions tonight. Is it me or is it them? Them, right?
lildioicus, I've just been broke and getting by. You know, that old living within your means thing ... it gets old fast for sure!
Hey, Kathryn, thanks for answering. Has it been boring here lately or are you just trying to make me feel better about my absence?
Poebird, I have always wanted a purple couch. A friend of my dad's had one and I lusted for it! I am so jealous!
kash, I'm always glad to see you answer. I think I like your answers better than you do, really.
It's great to see all of you, I truly have missed you guys.
How'm I supposed to pick a best here?

Hell yes. But I get a lot more of everything accomplished when I don't compute. For instance, I've taken up upholstery on a whim and am now making the worlds brightest purple couch. See! Getting off the computer can be beneficial :)
Looks like I'm back on the crack again though.
Edit - Oh Reader, if only someone here would be as appreciative! Unfortunately I'm going to get rid of it as soon as I'm done, I move swiftly from one project to another and have something a bit more ambitious in mind. Won't it be my luck if no one will rehome my lovely purple couch?

Hi Reader.
Good to see you back. Hopefully the return of old familiar faces and more questions like the one Kelly asked yesterday can bring a bit of life back into B&A.
To answer your question, I was thinking about this the other day - I probably would read a lot more if I did not have an internet connection.
EDIT: No, B&A's been boring recently. But even if there had been a lot going on, I still would have been pleased to see you.

READER WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN.
It's been months and months and I thought you were never coming back! I'm glad you did. This'd better be permanent!
Haha, but yes, I definitely read more when I have no internet access. In a way, being away from the computer would be a great thing for me, what with reading more and giving my wrists a break, but then I can't stand missing out on Y!A and my contacts who are very much my friends.
I would have never survived as long as you did without Y!A.

Oh, yeah. My oldest brother went to college in Wisconsin--600 miles away from where I live. He played football and my family and I went to EVERY SINGLE game. I'm pretty sure that in the last four years, with those trips, I've gotten more reading done than I ever would have otherwise. Pretty ridiculous :)
And now, in two days, we're driving 18 hours to Alabama where he lives now, and I've got my Kindle 2!! Thankfully, it has internet connection, so if I get too annoyed with reading, I can always come on here :D

READER!! You're back from the dead!!!
We've missed you:)
And yes, I read so much more without internet access. I think I spend more time here on B&A talking about books that I've read than I do actually reading these books. I'd probably do a lot of other things if I didn't have the internet. Be on time for school, for one thing..
- kashtasticLv 61 decade ago
Absolutely... I'm more of a slave to my computer than I'd like to admit. But the good thing is that my computer saves my money. Yep, no more impulsive trips to the bookshop to buy books I don't need. When I have the internet I waste my time doing all sorts of other awesome things like watching New Kids On The Block youtube videos....
I don't even like NKOTB.
But I'm now starting to realize this wasn't a question that I really needed to answer... one of those rhetorical ones that I nearly always fail.
But welcome back anyway :-)

Reader, Reader, READER! Nice to have you back!
Yes, I do read a lot more when I'm deprived of an internet connection. I find I'm a lot more productive, and I have on several occasions wished I didn't have an internet connection--but that only happens when I *don't* want it to.
It's really nice to have you back. I hope you stick around.

Oh you bet! I finished three books this last week. Of course it nearly killed me and I could play spider Solitaire and Hearts on my Computer, but you know........ it's just not the same and then when we finally got it back on oh wow how many e-mails did I receive? Five hundred thousand. Yup it nearly killed me. I missed you too! Where have you been?

I too do. I see it as a Divine way of saving my eyes from being over-strained at the computer screen. So I read, preferably, old books which have yellowed with age.

Yes! Reading is my next addiction when without internet. Or when I'm not reading or online, it's homework. Oh, the life of a procrastinating teen :/
But.
Aww I missed you reader. :) Happy you're back!
