Is life perfect and pushes us in a direction where we need to understand good or bad to be a better person?

Update:

@Thimma , If I dont understand the first time will not mysery guide me to change?

Update 2:

@AP I should use the word happier person.

Update 3:

@Dude I aprreciate your down to earth way of thinking it is not only a by- product of procreation.

Update 4:

I agree that good and bad are concepts so I will modify my question.

Is life with the experience of pain and joy pushes us in a direction to go above them to find happiness?

Update 5:

Old man thanks you express it very nicely. I am french and I write probably like a kid in english but I am an old lady.

This is an interesting question. In a small number of words, you have

managed to state a philosophy. The idea is a good working philosophy

that would set goals for you to strive to be responsible for your actions,

to accept the results, and to continually change your behavior to achieve

these goals as new information becomes available to you about yourself.

It may be that life is as you describe it. If so, life could be thought of

as perfect. Perfection then would mean that all the things are in place

that offer you solutions to the problems you encounter in living life.

You might want to expand on your conclusion. Sit down with writing

materials and describe, to the best of your ability, the exact nature

of your life. What happens when you want something and can't have it.

What happens when you are faced with an ethical dilemma and there

is no immediate answer. How do you relate yourself to other humans.

How can you distinguish between good and bad. The answer to your

question lies within you. Can this simple philosophy be applied practically

    to the way you live.

Your question implies that you have good intentions. Keep pursuing the

answers to it until you reach a reliable conclusion. Above all else,

    keep asking questions.

    Causes produce effects.

Time is limitless and all reality is entangled. That means that perfection is a moving target and imperfection is perception.

What's real and tangible is winning. The way to do that is to practice mind training with the recitation of the six word law of reality. It works better when practiced with others, at times.

How I dug myself out of frustration.

    By Generalist

I kept crashing my life despite my best efforts. My opinions, and those of my friends, and authors, about how to live had failed me, so I began to review them.

The big question was, “How can I stop driving my life on the wrong side?”

At a SGI-USA meeting, I found out that the method to consistently drive on the correct side of happiness had been summarized as Nam Myoho Renge Kyo by the humanist Nichiren. He lived in 13th century Japan. Here is the, "just add hot water" version.

1-No matter how turbulent life seems, there is a continuity. That’s Kyo.

2-Causes produce effects. Sometimes this is not obvious because of time gaps between the cause and the appearance of effects. That’s Renge.

3-Life is both physical and non-physical. That’s Myoho.

4-I needed to organize my mind according to what’s real in order to win. That’s Nam.

I started to recite Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. It took some time to discard my cynicism, even when I got phenomenal results from it. Joining with others at SGI turned out to enhance the effectiveness and gets me a great support group.

Life doesn't push us to any direction but the way I see is, every single experience or whom we meet teaches us a lesson to be a better person. There is no such thing as good or bad in life. We are just experiencing & it all depends on how we take it.

Nia, I would state it a little differently. Your revised question makes it a little clearer

Everything that comes our way in life is designed to help us seek a higher

ideal. As Dadaji puts it, life unfolds and if we can keep our mind centered

on God every thing will work out. He calls that God's play {Divine Lela"]

Brother Lawrence set that example in the monastery kitchen.

In the beginning, we were created perfect. Our attempt to separate from

God turned out to be impossible, but we did make a dream world at that time.

Our perfection never changed because God didn't allow us to change His

Creation, but we do need to awaken from the dream of being limited

people living in a world of good and evil. God did not create evil so it

is not a reality. God/Good/Love/Wisdom has no opposite.

Since we are created as perfection, we do not need to become better

people. We just need to awaken from our silly dream to realize that

we are still as God Created us.

There is no such thing as perfect, but from what i understand, we are suppose to get out of life, everything that we originally planned we would like to know, to help us understand existence in general. Meaning, that before we arrive here, coming from a place of infinite love where everything is just as it should be, we map out a blueprint, of the lessons we would like to learn in this lifetime because we couldn't possibly learn them where we are originally coming from. YES, all of the lessons we mapped out for ourselves, are suppose to bring great knowledge in areas we lack in, so that when we go back to where we are from, depending on what we decide as our fate, we will be able to understand all kind of feeling, understand all kinds of pain and suffering, love and happiness, that comes along with an experienced journey; comes along with experiences that we otherwise wouldn't have experienced to be able to be that support, or that guide for someone else who needs us.

life does not push anyone in any direction regarding "good" or "bad". Both are illusions.

Life is eating, sleeping, and procreating. If you feel a push to be perfect that is a combination of your inner desires and your culture affecting your desires.

Yes, you are very close. I don't know whether this large scale learning facility can be called 'perfect', but it can really beat you very hard if you do not learn properly. It requires so much effort at times, but it is very much rewarding in the long run. Of course if you manage to find the right path.

life is neither perfect, nor good or bad. Life is what we make of it. But yes life does pushes in my directions one of the essential paths we have to travel is the one that teaches us the difference between good and bad, because with out a clear demarcation between the two we cannot take up anything in life as life is full of choices.choices between good and bad.

Our lives are interwoven with others in society. It is society that make the ethics by which we live our lives by either conforming or otherwise. It is society that passes judgement on whether we are a good or bad person by those same ethical standards. It is the society we live in that pushes us in the direction of its definition of a better person. We merely respond to society's ethics, one way or another.
