How to run the mile faster?!?!?!?!?

I am 14 years old and every other friday we run the mile(four laps) and i am really slow. I get around 10 - 10:30 minutes when an A is under 9 minutes. I am in shape and other people who are not that in shape run it under seven minutes. It is really hard for me to run the whole mile so I walk a lot, I jog the first lap and the walk a quarter lap then jog the rest and do that the rest of the time. After each mile i feel like i am going to faint. I am a dancer and we workout really hard. SO I think i should be able to do it, but i cant and it is really embarrassing. Please help me!

    You just need to start out slow and work your way up. If that is challenging for you, then just keep doing it! Every time you run a mile, just work a little harder. It's a lot of work, but if you want to improve your time, that's what you have to do.

    well first of all you have to have the willpower to not walk! i know its very hard especially if your not a runner but you gotta tell your self "I can do this"

    and taking short breaths helps you not get tired as much as big breaths do

    I know where your at because last year i couldnt run a mile in under 10 minutes and now i can run it in 6! i can even run 6 miles

    Run 2 miles slow everyday. You will improve fast

    just jog all of it u should get like 8 min look if u stop ur just wastin time its goin to hurt but at the end ull feel proud

    Drink a caffeinated regular soft drink an hour ahead of time, and EVERY DAY hit it again.
