Will Danica Patrick make NASCAR fans care about the Nationwide series?

I mean yeah, she's hot, gets the publicity and all that nonsense, but it still is only the lower tier of the sport. Will anyone really care who wins any of those races if it isn't her?

what will make people care again is if sprint cup veterans like kyle busch and carl edwards stop running for minor league championships. they make themselves AND the nationwide series look like a joke. before this disturbing trend started, the busch/nationwide series was quite popular and fun to watch. the back to back years when junior and matt kenseth battled for the championship before they moved up to cup were enthralling. ditto for the back to back years martin truex and kyle busch battled. back in those days i used to look more forward to the busch races than the cup races.

Hey, I actually like watching the Nationwide series so I'll watch a lot of those races anyway. I just like watching racing if I'm around a TV, the whole Danica Patrick thing is just another story to follow.

The Nationwide Series won't be all about Danica no matter how much she's shown on camera. No matter where she finishes the Nationwide Series is still the Nationwide Series, a great proving ground for younger drivers.

  • I care. Sometimes the Nationwide races are better than the Sprint. Lower tier or no...its still racing and it is still exciting and fun ton watch. So what if the purse isn't as big. As for GoDaddyGirl...I don't see much coming from her regarding racing. She will be mid pack at best.

Too bad she's not running a Camaro

ARCA just got the highest ratings on TV they ever got,

so yes, she will bring more people into the stands, and watching the race.

I usually watch anyway, and I agree with the poster that said, sometimes the lower "tiers" have better racing,

it seems like they mix it up more sometimes.

Actually, more people may care about the Nationwide Series than you think.

Last year, towards the end of the season, more people watched the Nationwide races because there was much better racing going on.

But, yes, more people will be watching just because of her.

A lotof times the racing in Nationwide or even the truck series is better that Sprint Cup.

The classic I think was last year at IRP compared to the next day at Indy.....

I believe the hype being overkill. every time she races, the announcers bypass Danica loopy, like there are no longer the different drivers on the song. can not blame her for being pleasing, (and that i do think of she is), yet like pronounced.. it makes it to the place women could have a harder time being taken serious, except they are kind extraordinarily. whilst i replaced into staring at her race at Las Vegas, and replaced into listening to her radio communications and did no longer would desire to submit with Danica Mania, i got here across myself hoping she could pull off a win. She complete 4th.

Danica has made me even less interested in it than I was before, which was minimal. She hasn't even run a race yet and already has received more attention than every other driver in the series combined.
