6 year old son is making annoying and odd noises.?
My son is 6, and is making odd noises. just noises and doing them over and over again. I ask him to stop, he does for a minute then starts again. Its almost like he cant help it. Tonight we were playing games on the computer. He chose a game and started making one of the noises...I said why are you doing that. he said...that's the noise (one of the penguins make in the show..penguins of Madagascar) Ooooohhh. but why all day long. He has always made these "noises" but they seem to be getting more and more and they are soooooo annoying.
I asked the doctor about Turrets, they said he doesn't have it. He stops when I tell him to..but not for long.
What is this, does any other kids do this.
He doesn't have add or adhd. He is very well behaved in school, listens, sits, and pays attention..at school!

kind of like a baby who drops something over and over to see what happens, he probably just likes the way something sounds or feels in his mouth
six year olds are noisy, try asking him to say something quietly instead of stopping all together, he may be able to manage that better

It is called Touretts and I would get a second opinion. Children with these tics can stop them "holding them in" but they will come again very soon. But to be tourettes he needs to have physical/facial tics as well as vocal and for more than 12 months

He does this because he's a 6 year old boy! My nephew is 5 and he will sing the same song for 5 hours at a time with no problem at all.

quite harmless just that he likes the tune n could be compulsively repeating it, just let him see more educational musical dvd n hopes he gets to learn new songs.

maybe you should just sit with him when he watches tv and ask what the words he yells mean

Maybe he should have more activities than just watching tv, videos, and computer.
Get the kid involved in SOMETHING.
Scouts, sports, hobbies.
Whatever.
Get him away from the idiot boxes.
