LGBT: Are you pessimistic, or optimistic?

Just a random question I have been thinking of. I am gay myself, and I am pessimist. With my friends, the majority of them that are lesbian or gay have pessimists, while my hetero friends have been optimistic. Of course there were also some optimistic gay friends, and pessimist straight friends, But the majorities were as I said above.

What about you guys here? Are you positive or negative?

(A kind of side question, what is your answer to the question " Is the glass half empty, or half full?",?

Being an optimist usually means the result doesn't live up to your expectations or you're totally disappointed because things didn't work the way you wanted to. I'm a pessimist, you're either proven wrong and surprised in a good way or were expecting the bad outcome and were prepared for it.

    Half empty vs half full:

Half empty means you don't think what's there is good enough and you think you deserve more whereas half full means you aren't taking it for granted and appreciate what you have. Different aspects of life have different answers to me so it isn't really one of the two.

I'm definitely a pessimistic person. I blame it on my astrological sign though (Capricorn). When I'm with my friends and family, I try to be as optimistic as I can so everyone will be happy! <3 But I admit, I view life kind of in a negative perspective. ):

For me, the glass is half empty. I don't know why, either, it just always looked that way to me. But sometimes it can be half full, too. It depends.

I tend to be as optimistic as possible. I like to go at problems head on with a "what the hell, i have nothing to lose" sorta attitude. I do get frustrated and depressed and what not but at the end of the day I remember all the wonderful things life has thrown me and that keeps me going. So in short. a little of both but much more optimistic than pessimistic.

neither. I'm called by some a "realist". I see every side and I guess I am more leaning toward the glass is half full side but that's cuz this world.... it's a glass is half full kind of world we live in... i swear it...

I like to think of myself as a realist.

    More so optimistic though.

The glass is half full in my opinion.

Optimistic when it comes to things i can control

Pessimistic when it comes to other peoples ignorant ways of living. hard to believe kids are going to grow up in a wickedly sick society, controlled by peoples greed and lust. people lack of self control and have no respect for nature and whats right and wrong.

My friend said that I am optimistic, except when thinking/talking about myself.

I don't know... it all depends. To help clarify I will answer the other q: non of the above. I consider the glass just half. (I know I'm weird)

I am realistic. If you say that realism is another word for pessimism then that is, in itself, a pessimistic statement.

it depends on my mood but i do get pessimistic more often then optimistic...
