Heatstore aqua espirit shower is only hot on highest setting?
Our shower is really getting on my nerves!! You have to have it on highest setting to have a warm shower, meaning the water pressure is non existant, takes about 20 mins to even get wet. Surely this isn't right? We had an engineer out to fix it today, he said there is nothing wrong with it and its the cold weather affecting it? I think Ive been fobbed off. I think the thermostat isn't working and it needs replacing, anyone know?? Thanks

Hello Jaded.
There isn't a thermostat on an electric shower.
The temp. is controlled by the amount of water you pass over the heating element.
Sounds to me like one of the heating elements is broken giving you limited power.
Ask for another visit, you might get another engineer who knows his stuff.
It's not rocket science. Electric showers are pretty basic.
One last thing. Descale the shower head. This is the biggest problem with electric showers.

i read the past message and its NOTHING to do with central heating at all!!!! central heating and hot water are seperated completly. how old is the shower? it may just need replacing if the thermostat has stopped working, or if general use has worn it out. it also may be possible that debris has got stuck in the pipe, minimising the amount of cold coming through. if you are in a hard water area and do not have a softener, the build up of scale can reduce the amount of water going through the pipe

The more expensive something is the more trouble it will be and the worse it will perform. Too bad just anyone can pawn themselves off as an engineer. Sorry, I would have to see it. Do the other fixtures have hot water. If they do, it is not the weather. I hope you didn't pay this jerk.

have you tried to bleed your rads it may be due to low pressure, let some air out of them.
check your boiler before you turn the hot water on 1st and ask someone to check it when you bleed rads,to see if the temp raises upwards. if not hve you tried putting some descaler in the shower head it may be blocked up. check that out.
good luck.
