I am trying to get to the bottom of my dogs allergy without having to pay for expensive allergy testing. At the moment I am trying to rule out a food allergy by changing her food to a grain free hypoallergenic variety. I got her some Orijen, which she loves!!! But it is soooo expensive, and made in Canada. Ideally I am looking for a uk alternative that I can use for a while to see if it helps stop her itching/biting her inflamed skin.

Around 2 months ago, my dog has developed an allergy to something, we are not sure what. She is regularly treated for fleas, along with our 2 cats at 4 weekly intervals, however I'm not ruling out a flea allergy completely as fleas could still be in the environment. I'm assuming its something else though either in the environment or something in her food. She has had one course of steroids from the vets which although worked initially, the side effects were worrying. She is now scratching again and has a few spots/hives on her thighs and tummy. I am considering allergy testing, but I am assuming it is very expensive? Anyone had it done? What could I use to calm it temporarily asside from steroids. I really hope its more of a seasonal thing and things improve once the really cold weather comes. Any tips and advice would be appreciated.

Our shower is really getting on my nerves!! You have to have it on highest setting to have a warm shower, meaning the water pressure is non existant, takes about 20 mins to even get wet. Surely this isn't right? We had an engineer out to fix it today, he said there is nothing wrong with it and its the cold weather affecting it? I think Ive been fobbed off. I think the thermostat isn't working and it needs replacing, anyone know?? Thanks

My cat had kittens yesterday afternoon, she chose an old suitcase to have them in under my bed. Every so often she brings one kitten downstairs and nurses it then takes it back up again, a bit later she brings a different one down. Any ideas why she does this?

An engineer came out to fix it but it needed a new part which I have been waiting for now for nearly 3 weeks, the catalogue are speaking to the manufacturers on my behalf but don't seem to be getting anywhere, and I am desperate, 5 children and need to get my clothes dry.

I am in quite a lot of debt, not helped by the fact that I am currently unemployed. I did however take matters into my own hands by contacting all the companies I owed money too and negotiating lower payments, in some cases interest and charges were stopped. There are however a few companies who will not accept my offers of payment and insist I give them an amount I cannot manage. I received a phonecall today from a catalogue I owe money to, they say that if I cannot pay what they want they will pass this debt onto a debt recovery company, will this mean bailiffs or more negotiations of payment. Really don't want bailiffs at my door taking my things many of which my partner and I have saved hard to buy.
