legal/moral question.?

Ok, I have a car(my first car), it is pretty much sitting(because I have a newer car now). Well one of my sister and brother in law's friends wants to buy it. I don't really care, or rather didn't really care one way or another about it. The problem is I reached a moral epiphany and came to a solid(was always unsure, whole social good thing) conclusion that child support/alimony= slavery, and that slavery=evil and immoral. I didn't make any verbal promises(it was mostly my sister that negotiated a price(only get 150$ at the scrap yard so 350ish) while I held the position that I could back out) and she has been blowing her money as soon as she gets it so on her end was dragging her feet.

I just feel in my heart that I would rather not sell her the car. My ancestors fought in the civil war(Union Army) and it just feels like I would be betraying them by selling a car to someone I perceive to be a slave owner.

Anyone have any ideas on how to tactfully back out?

Update:

I suggest you re-read a history book. Slavery is when a person is forced to work for the benefit of another person. and they have no choice. Just because a Judge orders something that doesn't make it right. I strongly urge you to read up on the abolitionist movement pre-civil war. But your argument is predictable as their is a gender divide on this subject(the gender that benefits from modern slavery wants to keep it, while the gender being enslaved wants reform, age old struggle between the oppressor classes and the oppressed).

Well, I once read that a wife wrote this:

"I just put my foot down and said no. I will not let my husband co sign a loan for his brother and his wife". You can do something similar but I won't. It can again be offending if you say that someone else is making a better offer so you're selling to them only to tell your sis later that that person backed out, so the deal might again be on.

You can also say that the car is damaged when you got it checked by a mechanic because she probably won't know much about cars. You can just do a bit of unplugging here and there to show her the problem. But she might be willing to fix it anyway so this is not guaranteed unless you somehow get a fake very high repairing cost invoice so she might back out of it voluntarily.

Or you can just say that you really need the car afterall and have decided not to sell it.

Are you looking for attention by trolling here because mommy never gave it to you? Or are you just fed up with not having a girlfriend and will take any attention, good or bad, just as long as it is from a female? There there, poor little thing. My answer to your troll should make you smile. I've paid attention to you. Do you feel any better?

P.S. Sell the fictional car to the chick. Business is about profit, not moral considerations. If you feel guilty, donate the extra 200 dollars to the Manslave Freedom Fund, which most certainly must exist... right?

child support/alimony=slavery...how can you come to that conclusion? Slavery is a person sold into servitude for money, child support/alimony is having another person fulfill their legal responsiblites by court order.

If you don't want to sell them the car, just say it, don't make up a phony excuses.
