PEX fittings and crimp rings?
Is there a good way, or a way at all to remove a crimp ring without damaging the fitting? I destroyed a sweat adaptor trying to get the crimp ring off. Perhaps you just lose the fitting too but if there is a good way I'd appreciate knowing it

Normally, you would use a decrimping tool, a.k.a. ringbuster tool.
You cut off the section of the pex pipe with the fitting as close to the inner part of the fitting as possible. Then you insert the tool into the fitting and work it on both sides. This way you split the ring without damaging the tubing.
If you don't have it, it might be a pain to remove the ring. You could you a small hacksaw to split the ring, just make sure not to saw too deep.
