Sounds like it is in sabbath day mode consult your owners manual to get it out of that mode. If you can't find your manual give me the model and I will assist you.

The touch pad that controls the clock is wearing out as you are getting enough of a response to activate the clock for 30 seconds then it loses power or input from the control pad to let it stay on any longer. You will have to replace the control pad in order for your clock to stay on all the time.

You have a short or blown capacitor in a feedback loop to an operational amplifier. I have no idea which one. Replace the board or get a watch.

i had the same problem and it was somthing rong inside the watch.... did you get it wet? that could be it or it could be getting old.
