Is this the pattern to the trolls here?

People complain all the time about mass conspiracies of hit job's to questions on here from time to time. It is never a constant occurrence really. Only the really bad questions and obvious trolls get deleted(as they should).

But what happens when someone with a high rep reports someone's question just because they don't like it? It goes down.

But what happens to a person's rep when they report a bad question or a troll?

It goes up.

So I dare to postulate that it could be possible for these trolls to be nothing more than alternative accounts for one or more regular(or semi-regular) member here to raise their reputation on so they can silence questions they disagree with or find to them offensive(when they are not).

Or it is also equally possible that someone who hovers around a different sections is using this section as a dumping ground? The old saying "don't squat where you eat" does hold some truth.

My question is: Which hypothesis is more likely or possible? And what can yahoo do to close this potential breach and abuse of the yahoo report system?

Trolls would do just about anything from reporting questions without reason to hacking other people's accounts.

    interesting Q

I think its most likely "these trolls are nothing more than alternative accounts for one or more regular(or semi-regular) member here to raise their reputation on so they can silence questions they disagree with or find to them offensive(when they are not)"

I didn't know that a persons rep goes up when they report Questions

I don't think people from different sections would be persistently hovering around and sh-ting here. If this were the case I would expect the said problem to occur only periodically which is not the case.

I don't really think Yahoo give sh-t. The only solution for this in my opinion is Yahoo taking away the report button because otherwise Yahoo has to consider most reports as legit because its not often that Yahoo can argue that a report was not genuinely offensive to someone because this place consists of messed up nutjobs with humongous chips on their shoulders who appear to get offended by every little thing.

There's been the 'multiple accounts' problem since YA started. Done to push up their own ratings/popularity.

You can usually spot them, the same people vote for them, I.E. they vote for themselves.

Yahoo Answers are culprits themselves, as in delaying that a question has already been given an answer. Up pops the 'Be the first to answer'.

    As @Pandora Tomorrow stated YA doesn't give a sh-t.

i totally agree that some people take this forum a little too far,and also that yahoo should change some of its rules in order to prevent abuse

They'd probably say something like "I don't really know what you're talking about, I just like to have fun at other peoples' expense," and ask you if you have PMS(Postulating Man Syndrome).
