Our last Pope, Pope Peter?

People have been saying that "According to the scriptures the antichrist is already walking amongst us as we speak" for over 1,000 years. All of them have been wrong (so far).

Your second statement is based on the so-called Prophecies of St. Malachi. The Catholic Church has not declared the Prophecies of St. Malachi as divinely inspired. Some modern scholars even think they are a forgery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The first century Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

The first Pope of the Roman church was certainly Not the Apostle Peter, this is a deception of the Roman church to get more people to follow them and to accept her man-made doctrine. Sadly it has worked, because there are millions of Roman Catholics in the world to date.

Although the Roman church's Catholics may say that they don't believe that there are antichrist walking the earth right now, that too is a lie and a part of her deception.

The Bible is clear that there are antichrist among us. However, it will be the ultimate Antichrist that will cause the beginning of the end I don't think that he will be Catholic. Scriptures say that he will come out of the desert, Assyria and even though the Roman church's hand stretches far it doesn't control the desert and her people.

The Roman church and her Popes may teach a false and man-made doctrine, but she is not the Antichrist of Daniel and Revelation.

2) It is said that that our last pope will be some one called Pope Peter , exactly one after Pope Benedict XVI.

That is also not found in Scripture.

This is POPE fiction !! This comes from the false accredited prophecy's of Saint malachy. These so called writings of his showed up a few hundred years after his death. Just go to Catholicanswers.com and enter St.Malachy for the facts. And finally who told you the anti Christ is walking among us? I think you've watched to many movies like the Omen or listened too to many TV evangelist. Actually if you take some time out and read the Apostle Johns epistles you'll read where he says Anti Christ has already came...

I'd like to see a cited chapter and verse in the bible that says the last Pope is Peter. Dont look too hard though because there is none.

The thing about the pope is in the writings of Saint Malachy, not the bible. You people really need to stop spreading this crap around. Why would you care? If you're sure you're right and tight with whatever you believe, you're covered. Stop wasting time on this crap.

The first Pope wasn't Peter. That's just a common misunderstanding taught among Catholics that has no actual truth in it.

It's just urban legend. What you say is not found in the scriptures, nor is it true.
