I work with URI cats.Little info for ya

The proper name is Feline Chlamydophila.

It is inflammation of the delicate membranes that cover the inner surface of the eyelids and over the white part of the eye disease is seen most commonly seen in young kittens (5 - 12 weeks old) with persistent or recurrent infection.

how is it spread? It happens through direct contact and disease is more commonly seen where large groups of cats are kept together, such as multi-cat households, and shelters

How is it treated?Chlamydophila infections respond well to a number of different antibiotics with eye drops or ointment is usually recommended, but this should be combined with antibiotic pills such as doxy or claxomox. Most of my cats have responded well to treatement and have had a full recovery. I have a 4 month old kitten I took home from the shelter and he has become cronic. He has a Chlamydophila ooutbreak about once a month hopefully he will outgrow it.

It's easily cleared with a course of the right antibiotic, nothing to worry about, nowhere near as nasty as cat flu.

i think it infects the eyes of the cats who got clymida, i think it causes repeat eye infections and the cats need anti bodics and eye medication..........
