    nope not even close, at this point in time Jim Thome is a borderline HOFer and Jason Bay quite frankly will never put up the numbers to get in the the HOF

    You have to wait until his career is over. The take is that he should do real well in CitiField, and if he gets into a World Series in NY, that will even enhance his abilities to get in.

    I just want to see him help the Mets now, we can talk about the HOF for him at a later date.

    Jason Bay is certainly a good player, but he's not one of those good-good-good players who make it into the HOF.

    No, Bay doesn't have near the bat to get there, and his defense is not exactly scintillating. He is a solid, if unspectacular player.

    I think he's got a chance. He's just got to stay on the pace he's at now and be in the league for a few more years.
