What could cause months of gagging (retching) at different times of the day, but mainly in the a.m.?

This has been going on for months now. I'm due for my annual physical next week, and plan to discuss this with my doctor, but am concerned now because for the last two days I've had chest pains radiating to my jaw area. I have not any other symptoms for a heart attack, so don't belittle me for not going to the ER. I am also getting about 3 to 4 hours of sleep per night as I have chronic insomnia. Because I'm going through a long and nasty divorce - I attributed the insomnia to stress, but the gagging and chest pain worry me.

I had this for years, and it happened usually in the mornings but at other times of the day as well. Sucking sweets helped, and eating seemed to soothe it too, but it would start up again. I didn't feel sick with it, but it came from the throat area and not the stomach.

Is that the same as yours?

I saw loads of doctors and they all said it was stress and prescribed antidepressants which I didn't take. It ruined my life actually. Get it checked out but if you can relate to what I described then perhaps it is a stress issue.

If you are a female I would highly suggest you contact your physicians office today and tell them what is going on. You have to realize that a woman's heart attack symptoms can be very different from a man. Hopefully this is just severe regurgitation, but you need to be on the safe side.

Our authorities describe you as an appallingly stupid fellow, unimaginative, timid, missing in initiative, spineless, comfortably ruled, no experience of humour, tedious organization and irrepressibly drab and terrible. And while in such a lot professions those could be ample drawbacks, in chartered accountancy they're a optimistic boon.
