Do you believe the universe and existence is humbling beyond your understanding?
I choose to be Christian, because I believe it gives me the best understanding of the world and how to live in it... but no matter what you believe, do you agree that just living by science alone does not explain our existence nor the enormity of the universe?
J.K. I agree that the universe will not be fully understood or revealed to us by only looking at the bible... even if it was their, the people that wrote down God's words thousands of years ago would not have understood how to write it down. But purely from a scientific method point of view, the belief (or theory) of God cannot be thrown off the table. Especially when the prospect of it being right is dire to those who do not believe.

Yes you are right.
At the moment nothing exists in the mainstream understanding that can give us even a hint about the enormity of reality surrounding us.
We cannot even imagine what an infinite, complex system exists next to us, waiting for us to perceive it.
And each and every one of us has the opportunity to create a small window, and then a larger opening so we can enter this perfect infinity.
All we have to do is to wake up this "out of function" sensory device in us, called a soul, that can reconnect us to the state we were once, and this can happen here and now within this physical lifetime.
This revelation is our purpose, the destiny of the whole of mankind.

All the best.

No.
I don't find anything humbling about existence in and of itself. As for the universe, it's vastness and complexity can be humbling when we realize how insignificant we are within it. Science does not have all the answers, true, but it offers the best system for discovering them.
Faith offers me nothing I need.

Universe is just a shadow of His attribute 'endless'
Rom 1:20 "For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made"

I feel awe when I think of the universe - it is humbling to think of our tiny place within it
It is disrespectful to something of such wonder to simply dismiss it with 'goddidit'
science does not explain the universe, fully....... yet
but people who have a sense of wonder and awe are delving into the depths of knowledge to try and understand it
this will be done, little, by little..... step by step
Understanding will not be achieved by looking at a book of sheepherder myths or by listening to lying ignorant preachers

Psa 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Psa 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psa 8:5 For thou hast made him but little lower than God, and crownest him with glory and honour.
Psa 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

It is beyond what is understood, but that is far different than it not being understandable.
