I did not think that the Constitution allows for the government to require individuals to purchase anything (and penalize them with a fine if they do not). I don't know how it is a good thing to require everyone to pay $5000+ to buy insurance, especially if they cannot afford it or pay a fine of 2.5% of their annual income... I have insurance through work, so it does not affect me, but those who are self employed are going to go through some serious hardships because of this.

I choose to be Christian, because I believe it gives me the best understanding of the world and how to live in it... but no matter what you believe, do you agree that just living by science alone does not explain our existence nor the enormity of the universe?

The town hall tonight had a very interesting twist... the word count for the President vs the audience was about 9 to 1. If he is truthful about wanting meaningful dialogue, is he capable of hearing that the health care reform bill going through Congress is not what a majority of Americans want?

I fear that we have a President that thinks he knows what is best for all Americans but he is unwilling to listen and ignore anything that contradicts his notion of "social justice."

Nearly every picture I see of Obama, on any news publication he has a stern face, nose upward and looking down on us. For example today picture on CNN as he signed the bill on Stem Cell Funding... To me he looks like an elitist, let me know what you think.

It seems like our Congress has lost sight of the meaning of these 3 simple words...

We hear about how Bush ruined the economy, yet we were at record highs in 2007 and he had the highest rating of nearly any President in 2002. No one remembers Obama's broken promises from last year nor how much money he received from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, which are the institutions at the forefront of the collapse (and they gained power through a bill passed by Bill Clinton!). Does anyone remember in 2006 and 2007 when Bush went in front of Congress to confront the mortgage crisis before it started.

I have lost all faith in the American people... we are mortgaging our children's future and losing our rights because we were drawn by a silver tougue.

I guess our nation no longer wants to be #2 for the highest effective business tax rate, now we are going for the gold.... I don't mean to repeat myself, but this Congress and President do not know what caused the Great Depression to be exended.

If you did, you should read what they are trying pass while we are so preoccupied by the "stimulus". Look up HR-45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009. Its basically Congresses way for making it nearly impossible to own a gun... without officially outlawing them.

Can anyone tell me why she would ask for such a large plane? There are several smaller planes with similar range that use 50% to 1% of the fuel (e.g. a 737 or MD80 that hold 169 passengers or SJ 30-2 which holds 9). And Congress is angry about auto executives flying private planes?

Everyone has heard of the Great Depression, but few have heard of the 1921 recession caused by the end of WWI. Its a fascinating point in history that shows how the government handled a recession and avoided a depression. Basically the government CUT SPENDING and CUT TAXES.... an amazing concept that turned the recession into the "roaring 20's" versus the 1929 recession that became the Great Depression due to the New Deal which is quite similar to the current stimulus package.

Let's look at the stimulus bill and the New Deal (with led us into the Great Depression). If anyone sees any differences please let me know. Increased Government spending does not stop a recession, we saw this in the early 30's and we saw the success of Reagan in the 80's. Is this stupidity or arrogance?

Instead of getting his hands dirty and actually working on getting this bill passed, Obama seems to just be bashing Republicans, there are many Democrats that are against this bill too. Did he lie about being non-partisan? Is this the type of president we elected?

Why isn't Obama steaming mad about all the pork in this so called stimulus bill.

We have people like Pelosi adding $150MM for condoms in the bill!

Can someone tell me how $1.5B for sex ed in Africa will help stimulate the economy... these Representatives and Senators should be exposed, if not impeached immediately. They are wasting time and OUR money during a "crisis!"

I don't know about you, but I am angry!

What I see is, the tax payer pays their taxes, the government, through their extremely expensive bureaucracy distributes checks to everyone, depending on their income. Where the people that paid less taxes, get a larger check than the person that paid more...

1) it seems like more money is going to those with less disposable income, so they are more likely to save it or use it to pay off debt, versus spend it

2) The bureaucracy cost money to issue the check, thus wasting money.

Wouldn't it make more sense to give the tax payer a cut? It would cost less and he or she would be more likely to spend it as disposable income...

A recent study from the University of Indiana showed that Conservatives generally donate over 3% of their income while liberals typically donate less than 1%. Even Obama is guilty of donately less than 1% right up to the year before he ran for election and he was making $400k per year... And Biden has never donated more than $1000 in a year to charity and he makes over $200k per year.

Is it because so many liberals are against religion?

Is it because they believe it should only be forced on other people?

Or are they selfish?

There have been issues in the past three elections, but no actions from Congress to fix them, yet it is their responsibility accounting to the Constitution.

And they realize that Barack Obama did not lie about not raising taxes on the middle class, instead, just lets them rise on their own? I really think Obama supporters are the most uninformed in decades... they are jeopardizing their future for lies and a few hundred dollars.

Everyone can think of either praise or hatred toward Obama, sum it up in one word.

We are all screaming foul when ever we watch a news source that is not bias towards our opinion, would anyone watch a news source that had no bias? Just facts, no opinion or commentary.
