Do you think Jim Bunning's attitude about Americans who are suffering ("tough sh_t) ....?

is a perfect example of how Republicans feel about the American lower and middle class? Is this kind of attitude toward Americans the reason why voters kicked Republicans out of control of the White House and Congress?

That's why this issue resonated with so many people - it reinforces the stereotype that Republicans just don't care.

Incidentally, Bunning got a lot of pressure from within the Republican party to reverse his decision because party leadership knew this was hurting the GOP image.

Republican Jim Bunning made a statement that the majority of the House and Senate have all agreed with. That statement is that no new spending programs can be initiated unless they are paid for. I don't have a problem w/ that and don't understand why anyone thinks the gov't should continue to spend money without having a way to pay for it. I realize the Democrat Party stated they would pass no law that isn't paid for then immediately violated their statement. This is wrong and I don't know why you don't want to keep all Politicians to their word! Look at the facts.

You are thinking way to much, here look at his money trail, you will see real estate donors out the bum, he was just telling them that he is still on their side. Real estate investors love if when a crutch like unemployment is taken.

Pretty stupid! He holds up a vote and then votes for it.

Anyone that thinks he was actually making a point or helping a conservative cause is a fool. He just made conservatives look like idiots!!

Republicans want everyone to be able to stand on their own 2 feet. That was his point. But, he dismisses the fact that sometimes we have extraordinary circumstances where people will need support to get back into the job market.

He's 100% right, after all it was the Dems that passed the pay as you go bill, and when the desire came along to violate it, they had no problem. Bunning just tried to hold them to their own laws.

Nope. But I think it is a perfect example of how many Conservative feel about the current spending of the Democrat party.

Hey was trying to stop us from borrowing more money from China they already own us because of obama.

  • Actually he is a hero. He stood up to the Dems and his own party because they passed paygo and the dems wanted to pass that bill and bypass paygo.
