Is this just another act of hypocrisy by a Republican?

Sen. Roy Ashburn of CA, fiersce opponent of gay rights confirms he's gay?

It's not that him being gay is the issue...it's that he is so hypocritical in his political stance. The list seems to be getting longer for Republicans...is this why the Log Cabin Republicans are finally having more participation in the party...and how will the fit in with the far right religious folks?

Update:

You are so wrong bmovies...what bothers me is when people like you try to force your religious beliefs on the rest of us...politicians trying to legislate morality...and then we find out their secret are totally different from the way they want us to live our lives.

That is the problem.

Baloney. Everytime a Republican is outted as a homosexual, you on the left claim "its not that hes gay, its the hypocrisy that bothers us."

Many, many Dems have done hypocritical things in the past, yet they get a pass from the likes of you on their hypocrisies.

It has nothing to do with the Senators sexual preference or hypocrisy. It has everything to do with you are a partisan liberal who is grasping at straws to denounce another Republican.

Being gay and advocating the Federal Government's involvement in "gay rights" are two unrelated things. The Senator's reasoning, I assume, is that it is not the purpose of the Federal Government to legislate on such matters, as nowhere in the Constitution does it give the government the power to do so.

Yes. Ashburn is a RINO who was out this year anyway due to term limits. He might as well join the Democrat party if he wants to somehow continue his political career considering that being a hypocrite is a prerequisite.

We can transform the Republican party if we just refuse to elect these RINOs.

What's hypocritical? Did he ever call gays "bad people"? The only "opposition to gay rights" I can find, is his opposition to gay marriage -- so what? Did he propose to marry a man -- only THAT would've been hypocritical.

If anything, his being gay ought to give him better insight on what is and what is not needed for the homosexuals...

You are confusing hypocrisy with something else, perhaps an oxymoron. Just like you aren't a hypocrite if you are black but you hate watermelon. Your argument against Republicans is fallacious.

Never let passion get in the way of principle. He may be gay but doesn't mean he has to support gay rights.

Uh...Yea-uh. It's Monday isn't it? That is the first day of the seven day per week allotment for hypocritical Republican revelations.

The far right will have a choice; either vote for fiscal conservatives regardless of their sexual life, or get left behind .
