Why won't Word won't print without wanting to save the document as a .xps file?
I am the primary user of the pc at home and we have Windows XP. Word (2003) works fine when I use it from my log-in area, but whenever anyone else uses their own log-in area they have a problem: If they've written a document - a letter, say - which they don't want to save, Word won't print without asking them to save as an xps document, and then doesn't seem to print anyway.
Is there any way of stopping this?
Sorry that's not very detailed - I'm not very technically minded! Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

You can remove the XPS printer (from Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes), if it keeps defaulting to XPS every time you try to print.
However if you still want to save the XPS documents instead of printing (maybe to save it on a Flash drive), then try the steps mentioned by Vbritt (4th post down) on this website: http://help.lockergnome.com/vista/Default-er-Chang...
Hope that helps. :)

bypass into the printer settings (administration Panel > Printers in XP, administration Panel > contraptions and Printers (Vista and seven)). Set your HP Deskjet printer with the aid of fact the default printer instead of 'Microsoft XPS record author'

Control Panel.
Printers
Set your printer as the default printer. then this wont happen.
if you dont have any printer as default then you will print to a file, which is the .xps (microsoft xps writer)
you can also when printing, select the printer you want to print to.
