How I can find out the approx. level of carbon monoxide in my blood 24hrs prior to a blood test?
I have looked on many sites but I do not understand them. I had been exposed to a faulty boiler which was repaired on Wednesday morning. My doctor sent me for a blood test yesterday morning and has just telephoned me with the results. My blood contained 5.2 carbon monoxide, but I know that it can dissipate quickly once the source is found. He said that anything over a reading of 6 would be classed harmful. Is there someway I can find out what the reading may have been 24hrs before? Thank you.

No there is no way of finding that out as you can only measure how much you have in you at the time of either blood test, or a blow test that the nurse can do for you at your local GPs,
This is a small machine you slowly blow into for a few seconds it then registers your carbon monoxide reading, There is no way of finding out what your reading may have been 24hrs before,
hope this helps ?
Source(s): I know this from when i gave up smoking in may last year with the help and support of the nurse at my GPs surgery, I had my carbon monoxide level tested every week.
