Christians where do you believe the new Jerusalem(holy city) is located now?

OK, read carefully what i have copied/pasted verses below. I have written notes below each set of verses to explain you:

2 Peter 3

The Day of the Lord

1Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

- so the above is affirmation given by Peter to the prophecies regarding what he is going to say now below.

3First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."

- Here he is talking about those who mock the idea of 'rapture' referred to as 'coming' here.

5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

- here he is talking about the first world that existed *before* this present world. But take note - that is NOT any different earth. Its the same earth on which we are alive now. This proves the findings of dinosaur fossils etc dating millions of yrs ago. (Having said that, doesnt mean it proves evolution. No. Evolution is just a unproven manmade device to deny God. Still they are scratching their heads on that.) Now what happnd to that earth? read next...

6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

- can u see. That first world was destroyed. Destroyed how? With flood - means 'water'. Thus, u can see a *big big* gap of period that exists between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2. If u dont know this verse of Peter, a devout christian has all right to doubt - doubt what - how can God say He created Heaven and earth and then in nxt verse it says, it was *without form* and *void*. So that is proof, we are living physically on that SAME earth but NEW phase. Now lets read whats said about the present one.

7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

- this fulfills God's oath to Noah after the flood he caused to destroy all wicked mankind. God said that He will NO MORE destroy the earth by flood - <<Genesis 9:11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.">>

That means, God is going to destroy the earth in another way - what way is that? above verse says it - by FIRE. (Note: Do u knw that hell is within the core of this earth. Yes it is. Can u look this link http://www.av1611.org/hell.html )

8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.[a]

- This tells us this present world will be destroyed by Fire and even the Elements shall melt. Elements means atom. A uneducated fisherman Peter is talking Atom? - at a time whn the splitting of atom was not yet discovered by scientists. Its only recently they did it. This elements is talked about in next verse too.

11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b]That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

- When elements melt, that is a huge disaster. Now, if u look in that above link u will understand, Hell is situated INSIDE the earth. And this torment of hell is FOREVER. Therefore, the New Earth, New Heaven, New Zion, New Jerusalem is not placed in this same earth after renewing it. It is sinless, blameless. You can read this in:

Revelation 21:

1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

THis NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH DOESNT HAVE IN THE INSIDE - HELL.

everlasting chains — Jude 1:6

eternal damnation — Mark 3:29

eternal judgment — Hebrews 6:2

eternal fire — Jude 1:7

unquenchable fire — Matthew 3:12

the fire that never shall be quenched — Mark 9:43, 44, 45, 46, 48

fire unquenchable — Luke 3:17

mist of darkness is reserved for ever — 2 Peter 2:17

the blackness of darkness for ever — Jude 1:13

So that concludes that the new heaven and hew earth is totally a new place. God bless

LOL, Mt Sion (a stumbling-stone is laid in), the heavenly Jerusalem,

gets so drunk on law (worse wine) she falls (descends) out of heaven.
