Is this song appropriate?
I'm getting married in September (not a church ceremony), and the music is entirely up to me. I'm really excited about the music aspect and have been weeding through songs for all the vital moments of the night, and i think i have all my songs picked out!
however, i'm not sure about the song i picked for my bridal party march for the ceremony. i've had my heart set on a cover of "Canon" by a band called Zox. i think it's a beautiful song, traditional with a kind of creative twist. The problem is about one minute into the song, the speed doubles. i am envisioning the bridesmaids walking half time to the beat, or at least to their own pace, not the tempo of the song. but i'm just not sure if it's appropriate or realistic to expect them to walk to a song of that tempo. i don't want to loop the first minute of the song, i don't think it would work.
what do you think? here's a youtube link to the song, the tempo increases around 1:05 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2wN0lq9v7I
Thanks for your opinions!

I think the tempo increase shouldn't be too much of a problem. As long as you play the music during the rehearsal and maybe let the bridesmaids know to keep their pace the same all through the procession. I think it should be an unexpected twist that I'm sure the audience will get a kick out of. Just make sure to reiterate to your bridal party that they shouldn't be taking steps in accordance with the upbeat tempo.
Good luck!

Since it is such a long song, you could edit out the first 1:10 or so, and just use the faster paced part, having everyone stepping slowly, so that they don't all just randomly want to speed up. I do think it is a good song.

Make sure you all practice during rehearsal see if it works.
Have another song as a backup.
