  • Is this song appropriate?

I'm getting married in September (not a church ceremony), and the music is entirely up to me. I'm really excited about the music aspect and have been weeding through songs for all the vital moments of the night, and i think i have all my songs picked out!

however, i'm not sure about the song i picked for my bridal party march for the ceremony. i've had my heart set on a cover of "Canon" by a band called Zox. i think it's a beautiful song, traditional with a kind of creative twist. The problem is about one minute into the song, the speed doubles. i am envisioning the bridesmaids walking half time to the beat, or at least to their own pace, not the tempo of the song. but i'm just not sure if it's appropriate or realistic to expect them to walk to a song of that tempo. i don't want to loop the first minute of the song, i don't think it would work.

what do you think? here's a youtube link to the song, the tempo increases around 1:05 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2wN0lq9v7I

    Thanks for your opinions!

  • Looking for vacation experiences in Japan?

    Hello,

i'm planning on traveling to Japan within the next year with my husband - we are really excited, we both love the culture and can't wait to learn and experience more.

I'm looking for any experiences on vacationing in Japan. links are welcome, but i can find links on my own - i'm looking more for places to visit/avoid, things to do, etc, based on personal experiences. can't wait to hear any stories, and thanks in advance. :)

  • How do i word this in a "save the date"?

I'm getting married in sept 2010, and have just worked out the basic guest list. the problem is that 50-70% of the list is extended family and their guests. i love my extended family and really would love if they could all make it to the wedding, but most of them live all over the country. So, i am hoping to send them a "save the date" asking them to get back to me ASAP if they know they won't be able to make it or think it is very very unlikely they'll make it. as i've said, it'd be a dream come true if they were all able to be there, but i also don't want them all to "hope" to be there and then none of them respond and i have a sudden guest list of 10 people. i want to know far enough in advance that i'd be able to ask some friends to come if a lot of family can't make it. the venue we're using also has a minimum.

    so here are my questions:

    1) is it reasonable and appropriate to ask for that type of response on a "save the date" and give the reasons of why i need a response (i'm afraid if i don't give the reasons, a lot of them will be like "oh yeh, i'd love to make it" knowing they prob wouldn't be able to but saying they would just to make me happy, etc)

    2) how do i word that on a "save the date" in a tactful but straight-forward way?

    3) how long do you think i should give them to respond back, keeping in mind i may have to revise the entire guest list.

any additional advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance :)

  • Any Mirena (IUD) users?

I've been thinking about getting a mirena device in the next few months/year. I would of course go to a doctor, but i don't need an appointment for a while and figured i'd try and find out as much info as possible up until then.

my main questions is: on the official website, it says:

You might choose Mirena if you

    • need birth control that is highly effective

    • need birth control that is reversible

    • need birth control that is easy to use

    • *******have had at least one baby*********

i have never been pregnant before. is this a requirement or simply a suggestion? is anyone using this device that hasn't ever been pregnant?

any experiences with mirena are also welcome.

    thanks in advance :)

  • Clogged Sink - Product that dissolves hair?

A while ago, our bathtub drain was severely clogged and no product like Drano would work, so we called maintenance. The guy came and used a white powder-like product that he poured a bit into the drain and turned the water on. When the water hit the powder, a reaction occurred that literally singed away and dissolved the hair; i could hear it working.

Now, we haven't had any more trouble with the tub, but my boyfriend shaved his beard off in the sink and our bathroom sink is now VERY clogged. I don't want to call maintenance again because we have pet rats (we're not allowed to have any pets) and it's difficult to hide them as we have NO storage space.

Does anyone know what product they may have used that dissolved the hair, and if i would be able to find in at home depot or similar store? Thanks in advance!

  • Doesn't Red Bull's advertising suck?

I'm sick of seeing these annoying, loud, poorly drawn, and downright stupid Red Bull commercials. The one they showed during the super bowl, with the old man dancing and singing in the most annoying fashion imaginable, almost made me throw up. Literally. I have to jump for the remote to at least mute the TV any time a stupid Red Bull commercial comes on, because if i have to hear it, I risk hemorrhaging from my brain.

Isn't anyone else as annoyed (or almost as annoyed) as I am about Red Bull's advertising? I bet any 11 year old that answers this could come up with a better advertisement idea. Please, prove me right.
