Gaming systems and ROCK BAND: What are the differences in different systems? + Rock Band versions-differences?

TWO parts: I love RockBand, but I don't know what system to get, or what version of the game.

WHY is one system better than another?

WHAT is the DIFFERENCE between systems?

What can I do on one system that I can't do on another?

What is the difference in versions? How many versions are there? Are all the songs from version 1 available on version 2?

I'm an American in South Korea - this is gonna cost me, so I've got to get this right in one shot.

OK here's what you want to know.

There are 4 different versions of RB. But only the 360 and PS3 versions are worth it, just trust me. If I were you (if you have the option) I would buy BOTH versions of RB (1 and 2) if you want to have a decent playlist of songs if you don't plan on downloading new songs. RB2 is a better game overall, but no songs from RB1 appear on RB2 unless you upload them from your RB1 disc. If you don't plan on buying RB1 then you will never see those songs. You really need both for the full experience.

I play RB on 360, drums to be exact, and I find that paying extra for a better kit saves money in the long run. If you plan on playing drums, get an ION drum rocker drum set instead of using the drums that come with the game. They will break and if you're in South Korea it will be difficult to get a replacement set. The ION kit will last MUCH longer and it's cheaper to buy a new drum pad than it is a brand new drum kit from Harmonix. The same goes if you plan on playing on PS3.

The DLC is the same for both the 360 and PS3 and you will have no problem finding hundreds of songs to keep you busy, if you have the money. Stay away from the PS2 and Wii versions of this game, they are terrible.

Bottom line, buy a 360 or PS3, then buy both RockBand 1 and 2, then buy some rocking equipment that won't break in a week. Presto, you're ready to rock!!
