Since there is no actually "proof" that there is a God AND no "proof" that there is not....?
why can't we agree to disagree? Why are some people, both religious and non-religious seem to believe so strongly one way or another when we really just don't know? How can someone say "evolution is not real, GOD IS REAL!!" without actually weighing both sides of the argument?

I would have no problem agreeing to disagree, if the religious weren't consistently trying to push their religious beliefs into our laws, schools, and government.
Unfortunately, people ACT on their religious beliefs, and those religious beliefs and associated actions affect MY life, they affect the lives of my children, my family, my friends.
There is nothing I would love more than to just be able to "agree to disagree", and the day that theists learn to keep their religious beliefs to themselves, they won't hear another peep from me about it.

EVOLUTION is real...
And GOD is real too.
God created a mass.. this mass was under great pressure that it exploded. Scientists call this the big bang theory. People will say because God said that he created the word in six days (mentioned in the 3 monotheistic religions which actually 3 of them believe in the same God), and so opposes the big bang theory. Actually, he created the big bang in 6 days and it made the universe exist.
If you apply this situation in every scientific fact like evolution (GOD created a big bang, the big bang caused some dust, the dust became planets and stars, sunlight caused some rock to mutate creating the first prokaryote, the bacteria multiply and add oxygen, the plastid bacteria turn into plants. Soon more evolution happens.. evolution makes animals, so on so on so on.), you will find out that the origin of all this CAN BE GOD, nothing DISPROVES him.
The Bible, Torah, and Quran are 3 of them God's words, the same God's words. Each said that a new prophet will come later (in the original versions since bible and torah were changed by man) except quran. Quran did not say that a prophet will come afterwards, but proved that jesus, moses, and muhammad, 3 of them were god's prophets and that no prophet will come after muhammad.
unlike the bible and the torah, nothing in the quran opposes the other which proves that the quran, unlike both of them, was NEVER changed by man.
Coming back to what PROVES God, think about the atmosphere, if the oxygen amount in the air increased by 2 percent, the Fires will be as likely to happen as in sun. The Earth will turn into a furnace. If the earth moved 1 KM (from the millions of KMs distance) near to sun, ultraviolet rays will be able to penetrate the ozone easily which means all the humans who live in 5 degrees distances south and north of the equator will have cancer. The chances that earth becomes in this exact distance from sun at the same time that oxygen becomes exactly 21% of air is less than 10^(-7)%
Ask "How did all that balance in the world occur so perfectly as if was destined to occur?" The only explanation possible will be GOD
As well as if you read the quran that was made from more than 600 years ago, you will find Scientific facts that are still being discovered in the 21th century! Amazing really, you must read it someday! This proves that an all-knowing source said to humans to write these EXACT words down to prove itself later in the 21th century because it knew that people in the 21th century will question it's existence... this source is called GOD.
In this way, i conclude that nothing disproves GOD and everything proves GOD.

No one can see the wind. Yet, it exists. Of course people can hear it sometimes and feel it and they see what it does. That's kind of like how it is with me and God. God speaks to me through His Word (not audible voices although many people in the Bible heard God speaking to them which for them was not mental illness as many today would think), I feel His peace, I see how His plan works out in my life. I am almost always spending a lot of time with God. And that time is so nice, pleasant, joyful. Because He helps me and counsels me (through His Word), He brings things to my remembrance like Scriptures I need to obey if I'm struggling with temptation. It is kind of like, say if the Earth exists for a few hundred or thousand or more years (though I see the signs of Jesus second coming much more and would be surprised if the Earth continued for that long, given how much love is decreasing and lawlessness and apostasy is increasing), and someone finds a book that bears the author's name: let's say Richard Dawkins (whose books I despise). The people living in that time could pick up one of his books (though by then it will be quite worn with age). Some people in that time will say, "Richard Dawkins was real. These are his words. There is his picture." Other people will say, "That book is only supposedly written by a person named Richard Dawkins. Back in the 20th/21st century, there was probably a conspiracy because of all the problems the world was facing at that time and someone else wrote that book and someone else gave his own picture. But that doesn't mean that there ever existed a man named Richard Dawkins. Your theory holds no proof. Just because a book bears a person's name, doesn't mean that person existed."
You get the idea. I see a lot of similarities between that scenario and what is being said about the Bible.
If all the evidence I see for God (His Creation, the Bible) is not evidence for Him at all (which I know not to be true), I along with everyone else with my beliefs are to be pitied more than all men as it says in 1 Corinthians 15 about Jesus' death and resurrection (which I also believe even though I wasn't alive in the first century and didn't see Jesus risen from the dead but I believe it).

I can't speak for any one else, but in my own personal situation, I had an encounter with God that changed my perspective.
Let me explain, please. While growing up, I was NOT raised in a Christian home. In fact, we were always taught that Jesus was a liar, a deceiver, possibly even a lunatic, but above all else, very definitely dead.
I will repeat what I've said before, "It's amazing how that once you actually meet some one, you can no longer deny his existence." Well, I "met" Jesus (spiritually speaking), and He changed my life (for the better), and delivered me (rescued me) from a self-destructive lifestyle of drug abuse (mixing LSD with booze, speed and even "downers"!)
I enjoyed the sensations, and I wasn't looking for a way to quit, and I certainly wasn't looking for Jesus in all this.
But when some one prayed, and then God actually answered his prayers, and Jesus intervened in my life, I had to decide if I was going to stick with what I've always believed, and then continue in my life the way I had already been going, and probably die sooner than later; or would I accept this - uh - "revelation", should I call it? - that Jesus truly IS the Son of God, and that He DOES forgive us, and deliver us from all our sins, the power that Sin has over us, and the eternal consequences of sin?
I think I made the better choice, and my life proves it out.
Now I am fully convinced that Jesus truly is who He claimed to be, the very Son of God, who died for MY sins, then rose again the morning of the third day, just as He said He would do, thus proving once and for all time that He DOES have ALL power and Authority.
If this be true, and if there truly IS a God who wants to forgive us and rescue us from our sins; and if this be true, that the consequences of Sin is eternal banishment from God and all that is good, then I would be the greatest monster ever (even worse than hitler, pol pot, and all the rest put together) if I didn't do everything in my power to reach as many as I can with this message, in the attempt to rescue them.
If this is a wrong attitude to take, then fire fighters and EMTs are also wrong in wanting to rescue the perishing from physical disaster!

Hi everyone.
How can anyone say what is or is not real? What is real anyway? How can we determine what is or is not real?
For Newton, an apple that fell on his head was very real, so he based Physics on what he was able to perceive with his basic 5 senses - today quantum physics proves newton to be wrong. Earth used to be flat until it was proven to be round. The sun used to revolve around earth, and as you all know the list goes on an on...
We must all remember one very important thing, something that history and science both show us - "the judge has only what his eyes see". The only thing prevents us from "seeing" what is real of not is our limited senses and our limited perception of reality.
Let me offer those links with more information on the perception of reality and how can we change out perception and perceive the whole of reality.
All the best,

We all take our stand in what we believe or want to believe. You can believe anything you want to, Even in this day and age there are those who believe in a flat earth.
There is no proof for evolution. There is only a believe in evolution.
Why believe in evolution? Its an excuse not to believe in the existance of God.
By not believing in God we only have to live by man's rules. Not God's.

I don't claim absolute knowledge.
But we both agree Leprechauns aren't real for the same reason I think gods aren't real.
What's the difference that made the religious people start disagreeing?

"why can't we agree to disagree?"
you think religion has logical recourses? why would you think that? the evidence is to the conrary so no agree to disagree here - sorry . Religion will remain expansionsitic in its thinking. it's need to spread and challenge the belief there is no god is fundamental to it. and its stong it is effect - a vast majority of the poeple on this planet have been beguiled and part of the beguilment is it's strength - they'll never admit your opinion is as strong and as valid as theirs.

There is countless proof that God exists.
On the last day, i hope you do not wait for you and your little science to be thrown into hell before you believe. As far as it goes, it's only you out there who doesn't want to see The Existence of God.

There doesn't have to be any "proof" there is no god. What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. Just substitute "leprechauns" for god and tell me what that sounds like.
