  • Creative things to do with my daughters?

I'm a single mother of two little girls ages 5 and 2. I promised myself that I would do something with them every single Saturday(unless one of us is sick). So far, I've done pretty good: A trip to NC to my sisters for a birthday party, an Easter egg hunt at a park, Chuck E. Cheese, Disney on Ice and today, a street festival in a neighboring town. The more recent things have cost money, and of course I'm on a budget. Trying to think of cheaper things to do in the up coming weeks til I can save up a little change to take a trip to the zoo and the children's museum. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

  • What to cook? Someone please help?

I am a single working mother and part time student with two small girls, 5 and 2. I try to feed my children healthy foods, but they are SO picky and my time is limited. However, I am determined to do whatever it takes to feed my children healthy meals. I need some ideas. Unfortunately, my mother fed me whatever wanted when I was young, which was usually A LOT of fruits and vegetables, thus I'm having difficulties coming up with meals that incorporate all of the food groups. Any help will be appreciated. I will be going grocery shopping in a few for dinner tonight! :)

  • Do some people really believe that non-believers were NEVER believers?

Its disturbing how some people think that non-believers are immoral heathens who have never "seen the Lord" and know nothing about him or the Bible. As a regular here on Y!A, you should know that this isn't true. Yet many constantly state that they will pray for the souls of the non-believers because we are ignorant and don't know what we are talking about. Yes, I am aware that there are atheists that claim Christians are ignorant. This is not a question about that. I think they are wrong for judging as well. The question is simple. Its stated above and in addition I would like to know why some people think this way. Thank you in advance.

  • The Christian God is the BEST? Right?

So, it seems like a lot of the reasoning behind belief in the christian God comes for the fact that many believe he is the best God. I've seen things like "he created us and the world, he loves us unconditionally, he supplies our every need"...etc. So am I correct in assuming that since the other gods don't do or didn't do those things, that is the reason Christians are so closed minded about other religions? For the purpose of this question, we will all assume that he has done all of the aforementioned things even though there is no tangible evidence. Thank you in advance for you responses! :)

  • Question about blue laws and Christianity?

I live in South Carolina. Here we have these blue laws where you cannot purchase alcohol on Sundays and the majority of the store (grocery stores are exempt) don't open until 1:30 and close early at 6:00. I do believe that these laws have been changed in some parts of the state, but my question is, why are they in place to begin with? Obviously it has something to do with Sundays beng a "holy day", right? I have always wondered this since I was small. What's the deal with the alcohol on Sunday? Really, you can just stock up on Saturday if ya want! And the store opening hours are just aggravating to say the least. Thanks in advance for your response.

  • The Bible predicts the future?

No, I'm not saying that it does not...I don't claim to know everything. From what I have observed though, these predicts are usually found AFTER the event has occurred, and I'm not sure that would truly be considered a prediction. I personally do not believe that the Bible predicted anything, but that's just my opinion. I would like some examples please, and of course, all answers, comments are welcome! Thank you in advance. :)

  • What is the deal with men and a woman's butt?

I have been wondering this for a while. What is the deal! It's just a butt. I work at a doctors office and while some of them look "good" (I guess) in jeans or whatever, they all look pretty much like nothing when they're naked. Input please.

  • Did God do it? Or was it pointless?

Very curious about the answers I'll get to this one. Okay, here we go. How do you know that God answers your prayers? How do you know that it wouldn't have turned out the same way regardless of whether you prayed or not? If he does not answer the prayer, many people say that he did, but the answer was "no". Also, many people believe that he answers questions according to his will, which begs the question, why pray with specific requests in the first place. Lastly, many people have such strong belief in God BECAUSE he answers prayers. HUH? That of course leads me back to the first question.

I promise I am not "trolling". Real question, would appreciate real, respectful answers, without anyone telling me to "read the Bible" (Just read it this morning) or saying that I "need to repent". Thank you in advance. Also, notice I did not single out any one religion in this question. Thank you again.

  • Why is God referred to as a male?

Just curious. Couldn't God, if one exists of course, be female or unisex? How do we know? Thanks in advance for answering.

  • Since there is no actually "proof" that there is a God AND no "proof" that there is not....?

why can't we agree to disagree? Why are some people, both religious and non-religious seem to believe so strongly one way or another when we really just don't know? How can someone say "evolution is not real, GOD IS REAL!!" without actually weighing both sides of the argument?

  • Jesus Vs. Horus... copycat?

I know many of you have heard of the copycat theory. I would like to hear your thoughts? There are a lot of similarities that cannot be simply dismissed. SN: it gets kind of scary when your eyes are finally opened....

  • Will there ever be peace between christians and atheists?

It makes me really sad to see the comments that some people leave. I know that it is not ALL Christians or ALL atheists. But a good many on both sides say some really mean and ignorant things. What is the POINT!

  • Lady Gaga worships the devil?

Just curious, what is it about Lady Gaga that makes some people think that she is evil and worships the "devil"? and just for the record, I don't believe in any deities or this "devil" character people are so afraid of. I like Lady Gaga's music and sure she's a little different, but different is good, I think!! Has she admitted to this and I missed it in the celebrity rumor mill?

  • What exactly goes to "heaven"?

Okay, so right now, I am Agnostic. I was raised methodist and went to a catholic school up until high school. I am asking a SERIOUS question here. Although I believe that no one really knows anything concerning a God, heaven, hell, etc...I would very much like to believe that there is a heaven. Perhaps it is because I am grieving. I attended my Aunt's funeral today and I am still saddened by her death. Throughout the day I remember the service and how the pastor said over and over again that we would see her again. Then I remembered that she was cremated after the funeral! So how would she be resurrected, if that's even true? I just don't find the possibility of a "soul" plausible, but if so, wouldn't that be the same as a ghost? See, with all these unanswered questions, how can I be anything BUT Agnostic!!!

  • Why are Christians SO defensive?

I wouldn't say I'm NOT a Christian, just that I am confused about what I believe at this point. I have asked a few questions, none of them rude in my opinion. I ask these questions hoping to get some responses that will clear a few things up for me, but what do I get? Rude, obnoxious people talking in circles, making no sense, not answering the question directly and making assumptions about me based on the question that I asked. Seriously? What is up with that?!

  • Okay, let's try this again....?

Jesus SAID: if you ask ANYTHING in my name it shall be given unto you. Notice the "Anything". I didn't see any fine print or a notice that said that this was subject to terms and conditions of the request. No, I didn't have a prayer go unanswered recently, I'm just curious and confused! What is the point of praying for something if it may or may not happen depending upon whether or not it is God's will?

  • Why does God answer some prayers but not others?

In reading the Bible I have learned that Jesus said if you ask ANYTHING in my name you will receive it..but sometimes this is just not so. Then, of course, I am told that "God works in mysterious ways" or "it wasn't His will" or my favorite "everything happens according to His wishes" soo....what is the use or prayer again??
