The weak-willed people who crafted the immigration bill that Bush tried to push were more interested in political appeasement than in standing on principle. Plus, they decided to defer programs that would decrease and prevent future illegal immigration, so it would have the same effect as the previous amnesty bill.

The conservatives rebelled and killed the measure, because it did not suffieciently prioritize enforcement of immigration law and securing our borders.

Democrats believe Washington DC should run your life & Republicans believe you are smart enough to make decisions for yourself.
