because they couldn't reach agreement on what to do within the party. more Republicans voted against it. while more Democrats voted in favor, there were quite a number who voted against as well.

We have a tendency to rise up against even our own party's president in order to stop bad legislation.

The weak-willed people who crafted the immigration bill that Bush tried to push were more interested in political appeasement than in standing on principle. Plus, they decided to defer programs that would decrease and prevent future illegal immigration, so it would have the same effect as the previous amnesty bill.

The conservatives rebelled and killed the measure, because it did not suffieciently prioritize enforcement of immigration law and securing our borders.

Plus, what we really need to do first is eliminate the concept of the anchor baby if the parents are in this country illegally. Then secure the borders and enforce the laws. Then, and only then, should we tackle revising our immigration laws.

Oh, and the immigration issue started long before Bush was elected. The Democrats didn't do anything to help - their main achievement was fast-tracking citizenship so that new immigrants could vote for them in elections.

There's no difference between Ds and Rs. They are both controlled by the same corporations, like Goldman Sachs. Try voting independent next election. The others are both equally paid for and corrupt as hell. If Independents don't change anything, then we will have to take back our government by force. I'm dead serious. The gov't was hijacked a long time ago and people need to stop pretending dem or repub makes a difference.

This is not a problem that has started with even just the last two Presidents. Both parties have contributed to these criminal illegals coming here and being here. That is why many people have switched to Independent or the Green Tea Party.

try again when you grasp all of the facts. The current head of homeland security allowed many to enter this country via Arizona as she did nothing to secure the borders while governor. She is also working hard on limiting the ability of all law enforcement officials from arresting illegal immigrants in this country.

Janet N. and Phil Gordon the current mayor in Phoenix, spent 3 million dollars of tax payer money to build a facility for day laborers (illegal immigrants) to wait at until someone stops by to offer them work that day.

The Republicans generally back big business and many big business' are employing the illegal aliens as that allows greater profits for the company. In the second presidential campaign Bush backers in Texas were registering illegal aliens and showing them how to recognize and mark the ballot for Bush. Bush's win was in great part due to these votes. Had McCain won the elections the first time we would not be in such a problem; HOWEVER, McCain is now supporting the "Reward the illegals for winning the Hide and Seek Game." Two bills are now in congress that supports the Reward - everyone needs to be sure their elected official knows we DO NOT SUPPORT AMNESTY FOR ANY (ANY) ILLEGAL ALIEN!

The Republican Party tried to pass health care legislation and the Democrat Party blocked it. The Republican Party tried to fix the Social Security system so it wouldn't go broke and the Democrat Party blocked it. The Republican Party tried to fix the illegal immigration system and the Democrat Party blocked it. The Republican Party tried to stop fraudulent voting and the Democrat Party blocked it. The Republican Party tried on 12 separate occasions to reign in Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac & the Democrat Party blocked it, causing the recession we're in today. The Republican Party tried to stop the additional take over of 1/6 of the private sector through this health care bill & the Democrat Party passed it. There was bi-partisan opposition to this bill & only Democrat Party partisan support for it. Take a look at who has caused the problems of this great nation and it's clear who has tried real fixes and who has fought for gov't take over of the private sector. Democrats believe Washington DC should run your life & Republicans believe you are smart enough to make decisions for yourself.

Because they just care about themselves and for them this is an issue that is no important. Just like the health plan. They just care about getting money and spend all the money in the war. That it. They never do anything for the poor people just for themselves and they own families.

That is why Ron Paul is the only person we can count on. Businesses want illegal aliens because they hire them for cheap and get to make slaves out of them.

Why would they attack the companies that support them? Republicans don`t call companies Groups Of People for nothing.
