Anyone a Dermatologist ?
My boyfriend every season has this problem with his fingers mainly around the tips where they severely crack open and peel almost down to the last layer of skin. It happens around Winter/Spring season. It's not just a minor dermatitis or chapped dry skin he's got deep wounds on his finger tips where you an clearly see down to the bottom layers of his skin. Sometimes it's so bad they bleed and dermatologists we've been to just give us stuff that doesn't work and I feel so bad for him to have bandages wrapped around every finger. Has any dermatologist heard of this kinda skin disorder or know what steps he can take to prevent, stop, or treat this problem ??
He's not on any medications. They just prescribed him topical creams and ointments. I was thinking maybe it's Minor Scleroderma according to google pics.

It really sounds as if he has chronic eczema. And, that disorder, in an area of skin in which pliability is important, causes cracking of the skin whenever the skin bends. So, the treatment is two-fold: correct the underlying eczema and correct the resulting dryness/thickness that results from the underlying eczema. Since you did not specify what medication your b/f was on ("stuff" really doesn't pin it down for me), I cannot comment on whether or not it was the correct medication.
