Identifying a piece of furniture?

We've just purchased an antique kitchen hutch/cabinet. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about it. The decade it was manufactured, a suggestion about where to look at more of them and anything else you may know about the piece. It looks like a hoosier but with no step-back or enamel counter top. I have two pictures posted here:

We're considering repainting it while saving the detail on the bottom doors but I want to do some research before I decide to go ahead with it.

Thanks!

If you bought this for it's "antique" charm and value, you should NOT NOT NOT paint it. Antiques retain their value ONLY if left in the original or cleaned-up condition. Not changed, not painted, not cut up, not stained, not stripped of paint. If you paid less than $100 for this, it is probably not that valuable, and you could consider painting it. It looks newer than a Hoosier, maybe 1940's or 50's, but I'm not expert enough to know what exactly it is, or how much it's worth. Get a professional appraiser.

it is a piece of office equipment circa 1920. the top shallow drawers were probably meant to hold architect's drawings or maps. the little rectangles are for labels, as you would see on file cabinets. the drawer pulls are sold at lee valley, etc. called library drawer pulls. an ottoman is a large footstool

Maybe a kitchen arm oir? Oh, if you're going to paint it, don't do dark colours if you have dark cabinets. Do the oppisite, just to say :)

    It's a white cabinet. Yup.
