for all the people saying dirrell was ......?

what do suggest should have happened after abraham threw that cheap shot? do you think they should have counted it as a KO? do you think they should have DQd dirrell for acting? the only option was to DQ abraham. he threw a blatantly illegal shot aimed at harming his opponent while he was down

Update:

i meant to say 'for all the people saing dirrell was acting..."

I agree this was a great fight and did exceed my expectations I really thought

that Arthur Abraham was going to win the fight with Andre Dirrell. He was not

acting Andre Dirrell was out cold that was an intentional foul for hitting a down

defenseless opponent that was a hard knockout punch look at how Andre Dirrell

was on the ground his legs were shaking. He was the winning the fight on all of

the judges scorecards and he performed very well in this fight I think he's the real

deal he kind of reminds me of a young Paul Williams or James Kirkland. I would

like to see a rematch with these two boxers in the UK I'm sure that Abraham will

win the match and Andre Dirrell should be the WBC Super Middleweight Champ.

The last legal punch of the fight was not a solid KO punch. The punch definitely landed, but it was not a solid knockout punch. Dirrell was moving his body and head away from the punch, so the punch never hit solidly. It was more than a glancing blow, but far less than a knockout blow. When he fell it was a combination of the punch and a slip. I think it would've been ruled a knock down and Dirrell would've easily gotten back up. But boxing is not MMA and punching a downed opponent is considered an "egregious foul". In boxing, you don't wait for a ref to call you off from a downed man. You stop the moment his knee hits the canvas. Abraham blew an opportunity to wear Dirrell down after the knock down. Going down zaps your energy and Dirrell would've taken his count and been a little more tired when he got up. But when Abraham threw the illegal punch, he blew what little chance he had, to win the fight. People can claim that Dirrell was faking, if they choose to see it that way, but it doesn't matter. Hitting a downed opponent is not a foul and a point taken. It is a disqualification. At first, I thought Dirrell's reaction was a bit delayed, but when the salts woke him up, he looked seriously out of it. I don't think he was acting. His eyes rolled open and he looked like he just woke up on a Greyhound bus and he had no idea what city he was in.

You know that Abraham's cheap shot was an intentional punch. He was desperate for a knockout and pulled an idiotic stunt and tried to make an excuse out of it. He deserved to be DQ.

Abraham hit a downed opponent and deserved to get DQ'ed. Abraham was getting schooled anyway, he wasn't getting the KO tonight. Yet another example how the Afro-American athlete is dominate over the competition.

  • well the delayed reaction kinda seemed like he was acting but regardless Arthur should have been DQ'd either way, abraham has some heavy hands and he did hit direll right in the chin and standing or not that easily could have knocked direll out

abraham shouldnt have let his frustration out on direll when he was down

    i hated the ref though

Dirrell was slipping too much, that is a problem and clear proof of faking.

When you are down you are down (feet of the ground), but Dirrell was not down completely. This is another unjustified spectacle in boxing. If you can't win the game you start faking it.

The correct call was to DQ Abraham for hitting a defenseless opponent who was obviously down.
