Germans got along with all cultures except Gypsies.

Germans loved American Indians which they only knew from movies and honored the other Indian culture.

Other cultures were treated with interest and fascination

Other then the stealing, cheating Gypsies, only cultures who showed hatred for Germany and posed a perceived or real danger to Germany were treated negatively.

The Pennsylvania Dutch, who were really German, not Dutch, who came to America back as far as the 1700's probably had some contact with the Native Americans, if that is what you mean, not India Indian. I don't know, some probably got along fine, some were probably Indian fighters. Other than the Amish or some groups like that, Germans assimilated quickly into British based-American culture, the languages aren't that far apart, the cultures are not that different, so after a few generations they were pretty much the same (Anglo-Saxon Americans)

Germans have a great respect for land and nature in many cases, land is so expensive in Germany, and the Native Americans respected and even worshiped the land and nature. German farmers would have worked on smaller plots in the early years, like they were used to in Germany. This might have meant, again might have, I'm not sure; meant less Indian land being taken in some areas. But Germans were also often good fighters and when it came to a fight against the Indians, I'm sure they were right in it.

I assume your speaking of German settlers in North America and there is no specific incident that really says anything about contact between the 2 cultures( the early Dutch Settlers in the Hudson Valley may have a different story) By the time there were large #s of German immigrant settlers in North America in the mid 1800’s they would’ve not been German but American, and unfortunately would be lumped in with all the other stories of frontier strife. If its contact with India there really was no major contact between Germans and Indians because India was an English colony, the Dutch as I mentioned did much more early colonization and would have more history with Indians both east and west perhaps you have them confused?

Germany didnt start with imperialisim until very late and ended up with the scraps the other powers left behind like Angola (mostly desert) and parts of east Africa(impeneratable jungle) and some tiny island chains in the pacific.

In Germany they had INDIAN CLUBS and dressed in feathers. The Germans had a romanticized view of the American Indian.
