How do you get the musty, mildew smell, clothes obtain after being in storage?
Had clothes in storage and I have washed them 3 times and they still have that smell. Also, in the future, how do you prevent this smell?

Airing out in the sun
Spraying with tea tree oil/water mixture (usually 2tsp tea tree oil to 2 cups water)
Putting in a bag with baking soda, borax and or/zeolite for up to a week.
Putting straight vinegar in the rinse cycle while washing.
Spraying with 1/2 and 1/2 vinegar to water.
Soaking in water with baking soda then washing again.
To prevent the smell... keep zeolite pouches or open bags of pure clay cat litter in the storage unit... change regularly. Keep pouches of nice smelling dried herbs (cloves, cinnamon, bay etc..) in the unit.

Simple solution: Wash the clothes in hot water with good quality detergent. As soon as the load is done, place them in the Dryer until they are completely dry. Immediately remove them from Dryer and fold. Sometimes clothes will sit in a washing machine for a period of time and then dried. Once you wear them and sweat slightly, the damp mildew smell presents itself. I found the above process works everytime. Good Luck :)

Hang them out in the sunshine for as many hours as you can.
In future, you could seal them in plastic bags and store them in a very dry place (not basement, etc.).
