Is it common for swimmers to have redder skin or skin that becomes red easily?

Why is this?

Update:

Well three of my friends are on the swim team and they all have this. it isn't me personally, but they all say they have 'thin skin'

maybe. Chlorine in swimming pools is a mild irritant to skin but in correct amounts shoudn't cause too much problem. If lots of people using the same pool are suffering, i'd be thinking they might be using too much in there.

If you're just asking about yourself then maybe you've just got sensitive skin and swimming a lot is drying it out. Barrier cream before swimming may help

Hm not really. It could be a fungus from the pool.
