Did Paladins ever really exist?
I heard something about "Frankish Paladins" and it got me looking for more information, I thought they only existed in warcrat! did states actually ever use genuine Paladins, what were they? bodyguards? Knights? Doctors?

A Paladin is defined as a knight (unless you count the gunfighter in TV Westerns). They are tied to the Song of Roland and Charlemagne's court. Too much role-playing? Check the links, Google is your friend.
