Laptop mic works fine, just won't work with webcam?

I have a Vaio laptop running Vista and when I try to use the webcam (which is built into the computer) the video part works just fine, but it has no sound. This is especially strange because the sound recorder works just fine so obviously the computer is capable of receiving sound as it is so... What's up with that?

    Open the webcam software settings and make sure that the defailt mic set is not a different source then what you are using.
