Two year old doesn't want to take a bath?
My two year old used to love taking a bath, but now he's scared of it because he had several times in a row where he pooped in the bath tub. Now when I ask him if he wants to take one he cries and says, "No! Poopie in there!"
What can I do to get him to take a bath? I didn't make a huge deal or get him in trouble when he did it. I just cleaned it up because I knew it was an accident.
Thanks!
It's not that he's "winning"... he's genuinely scared of the bathtub now.

It was probably really uncomfortable or gross to him to poop in the bathtub. Poor guy.
Over Easter my 22 month old got car sick on our way to my parents. So after we arrived I popped him in the tub to wash his hair (which was gross from the vomit.) We didn't have baby wash with us, so I just used this regular body wash/shampoo my parents had without thinking too much about it and got some in his eye and it stung and he was so upset and then for a little while he really didn't want me to wash his hair anymore after we got home. He was OVER it, you know?
So I brought out all the big guns - bathtub markers and crayons, bubbles, and I let him bring something into the tub that I don't usually let him bring in (I think it was his sunglasses?) - all to get him to let me wash his hair. And he did and now we're fine again. I think the whole thing is about turning a scary thing back into a fun thing. Crayola also makes these sort of tablets that turn the water fun colors - there's lots of stuff out there to make bath time fun because lots of people have this problem.

My 2 12 months previous became into like that, and its because of the fact he would not like his hair washed. He'd scream and scream so he did no longer have his hair washed for a at a similar time as (naughty i comprehend) So we stared putting him in the bathe (we've mixer faucets) then at a similar time as he had his bathe positioned the plug in and now he has a tub, he nevertheless would not like his hair washed yet we could sneekily moist his hair with a textile and get the shampoo out with a textile. in case you do not have a tub you may get the failings you positioned on the faucets for some quid. i think of oftentimes theres a reason a baby might dislike the tub like water going of their eyes or scared the place the water is going (down the plug hollow) its basically understanding what it incredibly is.

Maybe get him some new bath toys to entice him back to the tub. My son really enjoys the letters and numbers that stick to the wall and the bath crayons too. Or get some of those tablets that change the color of the water and let him pick what color he wants the water. Or maybe let him pick out a new bath toy of his favorite character. Hope this helps.

I don't understand parents negotiating with little ones. He has to take a bath and it's up to you to give him one. He shouldn't have the final say. Accidents happen and you just move on and deal with it. Good Luck!
