what is the best, inexpensive, all in one desktop to use in my kitchen?
I'm not looking for a Netbook - All in one only.
I like the EETop 1602 and the the Emachine EZ1601 - which would be better, and are there any others in the under $500 category?

You might want to check out the ASUS EeeTop line of all-in-one PCs, including the T-series touchscreen models. They range from $499-799 (at least for the models carried by NewEgg.com), and seem to be what you're looking for.
HP also makes a line of similar computers called TouchSmart. They're more powerful, but also more expensive.
Good luck!
UPDATE:
The only other sub-$500 all-in-one I found is the MSI Wind Top AE1900-14SUS:

As to which of the two you mention would be better... The EeeTop 1602 has better wireless networking capability with 802.11n. The EeeTop also has a touch screen, which the eMachines unit doesn't seem to. Processor, memory, and hard disk seem to be the same. On-board video is the same (Intel GMA950). The Asus has a built-in webcam, the eMachines doesn't. Both have memory card readers. The eMachines has an optical drive (dual-layer DVD), while the Asus appears not to.
Hope that helps you find the right all-in-one. :-)

I would have actually said a small netbook. But if you would like to view multimedia, a large desktop for $500 might do great too. I was asuming that it was to search for recipes, or provide other various backround tasks such as music; but that will not do if required for multimedia viewing in the dining room.

check out the e machines at best buy, for inexpensive they have some pretty cool stuff. Mostly Multimedia, so pretty much easy going stuff, spread sheets, data entry, Music, Movies, net. only 350ish, which for a desktop is totally cool.
Source(s): I bought one for my daughters room, and because it cause with a wireless receiver I just stream movies over my network as she goes to sleep, it's really convenient. - Let me steer youLv 71 decade ago
This one right here --- IF you have a Fry's in your area. This one is not available to order, you have to get it at the store.
