Can someone help with my dogs barking all the time?
I have 5 dogs and 2 of which aren't mine, doggiesitting, and everytime the doorbell rings or someone knocks on the door, it's the domino effect, one barks then they all bark and it just gets louder. Is there something that knows when a dog barks that plays a high pitched sound for a period of time to make them shut up? It's everytime someone knocks or rings the doorbell. Or even when someone comes in the door. Help please ???

get one of those high pitched buzzers that dogs dont like, if they hear the noise they'll stop barking. Also, it will train them to not bark at the door bell or knocking.
YOu can find the buzzerrs at any pets smart or pet co.
OR
Get a spray bottle (an old cleaning fluid bottle throughly rinsed works well) And fill it with lemon juice, spray it at any dog when it's barking. The dogs will probably not like getting wet, the smell or the taste of the lemon juice, just be sure to keep it out of the dogs eyes, but it wont damage the eyes, it will make the dog "cry'' in a sence :-)

Well it is a dogs nature to bark when someone comes over, they are just letting you know someone is there, and they are letting that person know you have protection (=]) however; there are devices that sense a dogs bark and let off a high pitched sound and the dog learns to stop. It's like his punishment for barking because the sound is obnoxious. I don't know their specific name, but I believe you can find them online or at most pet stores. Also most trainers have them, they would know where to get them!

Dog training are excellent and very helpful to build you a stronger relationship with your dog. Read more https://tr.im/gsrNo
After I started training my dog, he became very attached to me and loves to stay by side as long as he can. But just going to them won't help. You have to practice what they teach you outside of the class and you need to keep up with it at least every now and then after the class ends otherwise they'll just go back to previous habits. This course is a really good place to go for dog obedience classes. It get's your dog around other people and dogs to socialize while getting the training you need. As for electric collars, I would say to not get one. In my experience, they're only a negative effect on your dog. I mean of course you're going to need to correct your dog, but being positive and encouraging your dog works a lot faster and easier.
Every dog is different, so unless you have a german shepherd or a really smart dog, it might take a while to train her. You might get frustrated with her, but go easy. She's still a puppy and has a lot of energy. A backyard or somewhere to run will help her get rid of a lot of energy that might cause her to misbehave from boredom.

You can buy collars which make a high pitched nose. I have heard that they work, but i think they might be quite pricey. Is there one dog which always barks first? I have only one dog, but my lord she can bark loudly! I focus on her, and firmly tell her no. If she doesn't listen, say their name and say no. If you get the pitch of the voice right, most dogs know you are serious a zip it. Its not necessarily a shout, but more of a stern voice. Its worth practising as it works!! I have heard of silent (to us) buzzers to get a dogs attention, and i think you can get them from pet shops, but ive got a feeling they arnt easy to find.

Hi... you might try teaching the instigator to "leave it"... since one dog seems to start all the barking mayhem, teaching the #1 barker to leave it, may be your best bet.
It took me a bit of time to teach my dog to leave it. I started with treats, then human food, and we worked our way up to other dogs. She likes to bark at dogs out the window when we are in the car, or if someone walks by the house; however, if i see these things before she does, i tell her to "leave it" and 99% of the time, she doesn't bark.
Just a thought. You can find information on teachng a dog to leave it by doing a yahoo search

My toy poodle does the same. I've heard there is a collar they can wear and when they bark, it gives them a little electrical stimulation which is not harmful to the dog. I am thinking about getting one.

well you can wait at the door when someone comes you open the door for them.
give them a treat before someone rings the bell.
