Can you be sexist towards your own gender?

Personally, I find that I suffer much more discrimination from other women, than from men, both in the workplace, and in general.

I remember one instance in which a woman obtained a salary raise, all the other women got together and protested to get her salary decreased, while men had raises and no woman ever protested.

Another time, all the women protested because no director in our firm had been a woman in the past. Therefore they chose a female director and most of the «feminist» women who had claimed a female director, instead of being happy with the decision, became really jealous of the new female director, sabotaging her work (omitting to transfer calls, throwing her print outs to the recycling box) and criticized her constantly. I was absolutely appalled by their behaviour.

Men are also sexist in the workplace because they often prefer to nominate a woman, rather than a man, for reasons other than merit (sexual or political = avoid male competition).

Yeah. I have all these preconceived ideas about my own gender that i am constantly being reminded are not always true.

Sure it happens all the time, just go to your local grocery store, school gates, work, public transport and listen and learn.
