What's wrong with my car?

Hi there! My car has been perfectly excellent without problems and well maintained. Suddenly we hop in the car at 7/11 to start it up and the electrical system has gone wonky!! All we here is clicking, clicking inside the car and out beside the battery, I think. Even when we turn off the car and remove the keys, there's still a crazy clicking sound going on inside the car. Any clue what this is and the approximate cost of repair? Thanks a million!

Update:

I've also noticed a few "fuse boxes" near the battery. Could they have anything to do with this, or maybe an alternator, whatever that is?

Update 2:

The problem turned out to be a totally dead battery! I just replaced it today. So nobody was actually right this time!! Sorry!

Sound like the battery has a bad cell in it. Remove the battery or take the whole car to a parts store that will be able to test the battery. I have had this happen to my with my civic before, I replaced the battery with a new one and no problems so far.

I'm afraid that the clicking sound you hear is coming from a malfunctioning starter solenoid which sounds like it is shorting out. But by this time your battery has also gone dead. Disconnect the battery and don't replace it until you find out what exactly that clicking sound is all about.

don't listen to that guy, he's stupid. It could be your starter selenoid. Try disconnecting the battery, and see if it still clicks? will the car start? many autoshops will test your electrical system for free

sounds like a piston return spring...go to the parts store and ask for valve wax and get two muffler bearings. they guy behind the counter will tell what you need to do with them.

price? don't pay over $15.00 for them
