Only you can decide on this

each branch has its own benefits that I may like while you don't.

Only way to find out which branch you should go to is to truly know what you want to do, and what you want out of it.

Do research on military.com and see a comparison chart ..

Also some people who posted on here have no idea what they are talking about

I.E Schiffy!, saying that is you join AF you will fly a plane is not even realistic unless you get accepted into the academy then into the flight program in which less then 10% of applicants get into.. also saying that Navy, Army and Marines are foot soldiers in iraq is wrong

Combat Arms are the only foot soldiers, that means Infantrymen, Cav Scouts, Combat Engineers... etc

i'm not going to tell you which one to join. you need to do a lot more research on your own before you can ask any questions.

first you need to decide what you want your career to be, because (and hopefully) you will learn a skill during training that you will use throughout the rest of your career whether it be military or civilian.

once you figure that out, go to the websites of each branch to see which jobs interest you the best. say you want to be an intelligence analyst? well then look and see which branches are offering intelligence jobs.

that might help you narrow things down. the next step however is to go see a recruiter from whichever branches you're interested in and talk to them to see what they can do for you. there's a chance that they'll just tell you what you want to hear, but make sure you get everything in writing, and if they refuse to do that, tell them you're going next door to ask the army (or navy or AF) guy what they can offer you.

the one that will benefit you the most is the one that will give you the necessary skills to succeed in life. it's that simple.

It just amazes me how many people don't know the Marines and Navy both have aviation. And the aviation training in Navy schools is considered better than the Air Force.

It depends what you want. Every branch has its ups and downs. I'm in the Air Force and wish I would have went Army. I don't like the Air Force because the branch tries to be so P.C. that it shoots itself in the foot protecting itself with thousands and thousands of regulations. I think we're the only branch that has to wear reflective vests/belts in combat zones so we don't get hit by cars. I'm not kidding. But we have the best food and the best living quarters... So like I said, every branch has its ups and downs.

1- There's only ONE way to be a Soldier(Infantry). Over 250 ways to support us.

2- Combat Engineers dont even do anything now a-days.... and i've seen females with sapper tabs... I dont care what fiddlers green says

3- Join the Marines if you want to learn how to March and tread water, and want crappy equipment, with a cool dress uniform that you'll maybe wear 5 times out of your entire contract.

4-Join the Army if you want cool equipment, better training due to more funding(dont see how people can say the marines get better training when they're funded less... That means less rounds going downrange. Use your brains.)

5- Join the Airforce if you want to work on aircraft aka be useless. More than Half of them have jobs that can truly be done by civilians.

6- Join the Navy if you want to be useless or a corpsman/seal.

I will say the one thing I do HATE about the Army is there's too many people, alot of fat people(less in the infantry, but then theres still about 3-4 in a company)

Because there's alot of people there's alot of people NOT upholding the standard.... Yesterday I watched maj's walk and talk on their cell phones... I've seen army personnel(i think it was a 2 ssg's and sfc) walking from a building to their car with no head gear on. Who cares if its only 25m away, put your damn headgear on. last week i saw a guy OFF base walking outside no head gear on AND talking on his phone.

With that said I plan on joining the USMC as an Officer. Marines seem a lot better at following basic rules from what I can see.

Air Force and Navy is the best. Coast guard too. Air Force and Navy will help you in civilian life. The Army and Marines not so much.

Marine Corps has the least benefits from what I've been seeing and hearing over and over again but they are the most elite, honorable and hard as nails. That's who I would join.

Air Force treats it's personnel better and provides better benefits. It's a much higher standard of living compared to the other branches. Work wise it's just as hard now-a-days as the other branches though, don't expect them to be easy. The Air Force is also the leader amongst the branches in technology and cyber warfare. Not everyone is a pilot, there are many jobs available..even on the ground. Go for the USAF!

Depends on what you want to do.

If you are looking for a career, check out http://www.acinet.org/moc/ Type in the civilian job you want under key word search, then find out what MOS/AFSC/Rating it translates into, then look at what the different services have to offer.
